Re: Club Managers 2024
Wouldn’t say I fancy Ferbane based off that. It’s common knowledge them players are bad for the dressing room and raff took a step forward by finally cutting out the bullshit they bring not sure going back to that would be beneficial for a young crop of good minors Coming through

Re: Club Managers 2024
What common knowledge is that ? 5/6 players left becasue Raff was staying on. There hardly all bad for the dressing room.
Raff brought absolotuley no success either so that theory (even if true) is null and void.

I hear Joe Maher and Ronan Maguire are going back now that rafferty is gone. Plus I'd imagine David Dunican the goalie and the Corcoran chap would aslo return because George would have trained nearly all them lads on that team at underage level and even David with Offaly minor teams.
A good management team that all the players obvioulsy have won under before with the addition of some Key players returning. Bourke gone to Australia. I'd have them as favourites. Albeit a very very early prediction.
You'd have to be worried on clubs that have not got a management team in place yet as time is running out. Has Shane Kelly gone elsewhere or just opted out due to a serious lack of commitment??
In regards to GD he has stated he is not going into talks with any club while Sallins are still going on. would like to see him appointed as Ferbane manager, One can only imagine the moral and vibes he would bring to the dressing room. A Genuine nice fella and massive GAA head.
No word on Durrow manager. We're struggling to find someone is what I last heard.
Agreed on George Digan. A big GAA head and players always seem to think highly of him. Unlike Rafferty (despite what behind the goal thinks).

Re: Club Managers 2024
Right go on then give me 5/6 players? Joe maher left because he actually had to do a pre season and didn’t want to? Ferbane managers over the years let that slide and rafferty wouldn’t? I’m not sure why you are counting Ronan McGuire he won’t even start for Ferbane nowhere near good enough? David Dunican gave up football himself couldn’t even get him to tog for intermediate that’s nothing to do with Rafferty. You’ve got this badly wrong stay focused on Durrow

Re: Club Managers 2024
Where are you getting this info. Laughable.
Joe Maher didn’t want to play under Rafferty under the best of my knowledge. But a county standard forward.
Ronan Mcguire was an Offaly u20 and always played senior football every year & was on the 2019 team that beat Rhode in the county final. ….and from my knowledge of word too, he was also pushed aside for Darragh Flynn when Rafferty came in because he had him with his own Offaly 20s team and preferred him. Can happen. A manager has his faves.
Leon Fox - transferred to Louth, but apparently wouldve done another year if a new management in place.
David Dunican - an Offaly u20 goalie. Hated Rafferty. And played intermediate all year under a different manager FYI.
John Dunican - a brother of David. Played senior championship in 2024 against us down in Ferbane. Also didn’t like Rafferty.
Jack Egan - unsure. But think he emigrated.
Conor Butler - another defender who hurled this year but not football.
Bernard Corcoran - not a consistent senior but definitely has been in and out of teams.
I mean, they all can’t be a problem in a dressing room. And how can you say if you add in all those players you’re not going to win a championship, adding in to what they already have.
Know your facts before you start spouting sh*t.

Re: Club Managers 2024
Joe maher doesn’t want to play for anyone that won’t stroke his ego and let him do what he wants, FYI rafferty picked up the phone to him before the start of last season and he didn’t answer so what do you do? Let a lad walk back onto the team in May and upset everything? - nothing to do with Rafferty
Ronan McGuire was on an extended u20 panel at one stage never played championship for Offaly at any grade, also played a grand total of zero minutes in that 2019 win you remember him playing? He’s not good enough has fallen out with managers before it can’t always be the managers fault - nothing to do with Rafferty
Leon fox are you seriously saying this is Rafferty’s fault a lad who has traveled from Drogheda for years to play dual club 3 times a week that’s the managers fault he decided to transfer? Presume it’s the Belmont managers fault too he didn’t hurl with them? Get a life. - nothing to do with Rafferty
David Dunican has no interest in football he won’t play again under any manager this happens in every club lads drift away - nothing to do with Rafferty
John dunican had a serious ankle injury during the league was ruled out for the season - nothing to do with rafferty
Why are you including Jack Egan? The lad is in Australia? He hated Rafferty so much he decided to move across the world I suppose? Are we seeing a trend here? You got your information off the back of a cornflakes box but anyway we continue
Conor butler is based in Dubai, flew home for one hurling match this year and played 20 minutes what’s the problem with rafferty here? None.
Bernard Corcoran would have played soccer until summer time but then intermediate also not good enough for senior anyway? Not raffertys fault
You say rafferty wasnt well received by the players? Well when the leadership group went to the committee and said offer Rafferty another year that probably means they were fond of him? He opted out himself he wasn’t pushed. He took Ferbane with a tiny back room team and took very little money off the club compared to what some lads are pulling out of clubs a proud Offaly man who coached us to one of our best ever days so Whatever personal issue you have with him that’s separate to the facts. It’s clear you have no clue what you are talking about only trying to push your personal agenda I’ve cleared everything up I won’t be responding have a good day.

Wow.
One thing I can say from that Sh***.
Is you’re definitely not from Ballinagar. You’re from Ferbane
Actually no, you might actually be from Cloghan and are Ger Rafferty writing
Crazy level of detail from a “Ballinagar” man.

We will see anyways next year whether or not my prediction was right about Ferbane winning the title
Or maybe you can predict the future as well as everything else!

I'm sorry but i feel the need to address some of the points here as they are as far fetched as I've ever seen.DurrowBoy17 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 3:17 pm Where are you getting this info. Laughable.

I know Leon on a personal level and absolutely untrue he left Ferbane because of Raff. I have spoken personally to him on his transfer in great detail and not once was there the slightest mention of him leaving because raff was involved.
Jack Egan
Behindthegoal is 100% right in what he said on the Joe Maher debate, Raff did ring him and got no answer or even response.
Durrowboy17 by the looks of it all clubs and managers are wrong and the problem, I've seen you've had a go at DK in another post here, Maybe Keep the head down and give Durrow GAA a dig out on finding a new manager instead of slating others on here. I'm sure with all your information you've been spitting here in regards to players and managers you'd be a huge help to Durrow selecting a new management team. (Or will they even bother listening to your nonsense)

Re: Club Managers 2024
I think both of these accounts (above) are the same person to be honest. A lad from Ferbane, having looked back at previous messages you put in. I'd have a theory who, but I won't say.
I'm no longer going to comment as this is off topic and not for this thread. Goodbye Ferbane man.

It would be great if your assumptions are true but how and ever. Id love to know what your theory is (Because they have been so accurate in the past)DurrowBoy17 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 12, 2025 6:17 pm I think both of these accounts (above) are the same person to be honest.
