Panel looks weak going by post in here , will DK have to swallow humble pie and approach certain players he's had a problem with in the past . We all know there is better players not in there that is needed .

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025
Honest question ? Who are these players ye speak of that could be approached to come that aren't in already ? Outside of Farrell who let himself down with his behaviour , are there any other forwards staring Kelly/harte in the face that we are missing ??? If so I haven't seen them in any senior club games....I'm told darragh Flynn and cian Johnson are in
Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025
The management and players won't be judged on 2026, its insurmountable. Too many injuries , DK and MH will definitely get another year in 2027
Let's get behind them more than ever now

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025
Management will always be judged irrespective and rightly so! Yea itll be taken into context if lots of injuries but it is only right they are judged. if there is a number of non contact injuries of the same kind, you'd have to ask questions why. I am somewhere in the middle here on this, but I can see Durrow's point totally if you have so many with osteitis Pubis injuries, which is largely down to overtraining. There is a history of this too with DK teams in the past where post U20, there were an amount of that squad who had non contact injuries - recalling John Furlong Cormac Egan OK Martin among a good few more. Yea, lads need to train hard but there is a balance to be struck and if appropriate recovery is not granted, then these non contact injuries is the result. If it is true on the volume of injuries and if there was a row between physio and manager, then that is disappointing. There are some injuries that have nothing to do with management or overuse, Paddy Dunican cruciate for example among probably a few more, where it occurred in club game playing outfield.
On the other hand, DK first year was a horror show in my opinion. Aside from beating a poor Laois side, the league was poor and the London game and Tailteann Cup was as low as ever I have seen it and there were many rumours of player discontent etc at the time. That however was put to side and MH introduction gave things a real shot in the arm and between DK and MH, they got the most from the group last year as far as I was concerned in a hugely positive year. DK deserves as much credit for that as MH does to be fair to him. It is not all bad or not all good with me. DK should be given fair shout and praised when he does well as much as criticised when he does poorly. Lots of debate here has polarised, biased and unbalanced perspectives.
So as 2026 turns around, the management and team will be judged in the context of how well they do, in relation to injuries etc etc and in relation to performance. DK is in his 3rd year now at senior level, has overseen a dev squad and 3 or 4 U20 teams and so should have lads ready to step in for short term at least for training if not for competitive games. It is disappointing that no Rhode players (among others) are available as I would see them having 3 forwards at the level of playing senior inter county in 26 in Kellaghan, McNamee and Sullivan. I just hope that strained relationships are not the reason lads are not available and that anyone that thinks they are good enough goes in and gives it a shot in the arm that it may need in the early rounds of league. There will be chances there for lads with injuries etc and I hope lads can see that and grab their chance. A few lads I'd like to see grab a spot are Marcas Dalton, Geordie O Meara and Shane O Toole Greene as I think they may have something to offer to the team.

Bill Carroll, Bernard Allen, Anton Sullivan are all still some of the best players in Offaly.

For someone that seemily knows so much of what is going on in the camp your sources clearly never filled you in on the behavior of one of those players and as for another who hasn't barely kicked a ball all year for his club he wasn't a senior footballer at his best with the old rules he's certainly never going to be with the new rules......

I think your bias has run its course now at this stage and this is an outrageous comment.
The man puts his heart and soul into the game and has done since he was a young lad playing minor for Offaly.
He ruffles plenty of feathers and is not everyones cup of tea, but he is a sociable chap too, holding down a very good full time job outside of football so despite your views he clearly does interact well with people.
Aside from that the rush to pile in at this stage when a ball hasnt been kicked in anger is disappointing and every little issue is flagged up here as if its Mo Salah type stuff.
Ru Mc is a loss, but there is no going back for this mgt for Anton, and probably Bill Carroll too, (who may have been asked in but kicked very little ball for his club this year and has really struggled with injury and has opened a new business in Mullingar), Panda maybe yes but is not the player he was. As was stated Cian Farrell shot himself in the foot really and is a shame as he had the potential.
Keeper is an issue alright, and I know myself that this is an issue around the county with clubs. As I said before the level of coaching in the county and planning is suspect at times as it is a poor situation where we struggle with bringing through goalkeepers from development squads and if Paddy and Chip had been good enough to progress at soccer we would be dire straights. Tullamore dont even have a natural keeper, Chalky was a forward at minor level with Offaly.
Adam Nugent I think is in there as back up at present and is a good honest lad.
Mayo game will be a big challenge for them, but just the type of game needed.
This year is about realism though. I think with the injuries and absentees we are not at Div 2 level, but that should not and will not prevent having a cut off a number of teams and we've run some of them very close over last number of years and have been close to Meath and beating them a few times. Hopefully we can survive and unearth a few more to build a squad.
I'd be worried about our U20s and how they will fare out this season as having a competitive group wil be important after a few disappointing seasons.
