Re: Club Managers 2024
Klopp withdrew from the running because he didn’t feel he could deliver the Leinster KK crave.
We’ll find out this weekend if Laffan is Roy Hodgson or Arne Slot. If he can beat Shefflin and Ballyhale down in Nowlan park it’ll be up there with the win over Thurles.
5/2 seems short but the bookies must think KK have a chance.
Kk can score , if they can keep the cats to 1 goal or less they might sneak it. Keeping Kilkenny teans to one green flag or less has been a problem for Offaly teams since the Ballyhale manager appeared on the scene around the turn of the millennium.

Word on the street is Ballinamere have Ratified two huge names in GAA. No not Klopp. Manager Sean Tracey and assisting him as coach will be Damian Coleman.Tmacmahon wrote: ↑Sun Nov 02, 2025 11:14 pm That time of the year again

If true, Coleman is with westmeath so although possible, very hard to work both and get the results you need. Treacy is very good but is known more as a coach than manager. With kildangan for a long time as a coach.

I think Sean Treacy is from Portumna, a former Galway hurler, and he was involved in the Clare hurling management a few years ago .private joker wrote: ↑Wed Nov 12, 2025 1:39 am If true, Coleman is with westmeath so although possible, very hard to work both and get the results you need. Re: Club Managers 2024
Interesting appointment for them but they have a big gap to make up in my opinion after this year to contend next year. They have a bit of talent but have they the steel needed to win a senior championship? Not from what I have seen to date anyway and this new management wont see too many of them together until Offaly are out of championship next year so they've it all to do....
To be honest, I think there is way too much talk about Ballinamere on this forum generally (not this thread) for all they have ever done. Yes they have a good few county players but have grossly underachieved to date and you'd swear they had actually won something with all the sh*te talked about them. In fact, they never won a county final, only reached one and maybe one semi final with that. They were hammered by KK this year in a q-final and Birr and Shinrone are ahead of them - and probably Belmont too this year - and nobody talking about them. Shinrone have played in 3 finals now I think? and won one and deserve way more talk than Ballinamere.

Re: Club Managers 2024
I would have to agree with you on a number of points you've made above. You are correct in saying the Sh*te about them is crazy, such talk the have never really backed up on the pitch. I Remember a post on a thread here lads saying they have a lot of egos involved weather it be team or management and this is what's holding them back. But you'd have to think with such appointment like this they are pulling all the stops.jimbob17 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 12, 2025 8:45 pm Interesting appointment for them but they have a big gap to make up in my opinion after this year to contend next year. There is a huge gap as Jimbob17 has said and id agree 100%. Weather was a huge factor in the final against KK two years ago and the gap didn't look so big, But on last years form they wouldn't be in my top 4 next year and maybe that's unfair to say but past results suggest they have a lot of work to do.
A team that has huge potential to win a Championship and a team winning one are vastly different. As stated above Shinrone have won in the last few years Ballinamere haven't and the way Ballinamere are being talked about and wrote about in the paper id have to agree Shinrone deserve more respect.
Besides all that a huge appointment for Ballinmere and all the best to them. Who knows come 2026 me and Jimbob17 could be eating our words.

Re: Club Managers 2024
This is a thread about club managers and Ballinamere got a new one so obviously it’s going to be mentioned here. Not sure why it has angered some here but if ye want a thread to give out about Ballinamere make one and
do it there. I too am fed up of the talk about how great or how not great they are but there is no need for it now on this thread so I’m not sure why it’s being brought up at all.

Re: Club Managers 2024
In fairness Ballinamere are a great club.
Re: Club Managers 2024
Not angered in any way. I discussed the managerial appointment as per the thread - it was just another 'add on' point about them which others seem to agree with which is interesting.....TownieInOz wrote: ↑Thu Nov 13, 2025 12:25 pm This is a thread about club managers and Ballinamere got a new one so obviously it’s going to be mentioned here. as I said "To be honest, I think there is way too much talk about Ballinamere on this forum generally (not this thread)". Being honest, i'd love to see them win one as Offaly needs fresh blood, but the chatter about them is way overboard - until they go and do something.... and they are a good club who have come from low base, but they do have very good numbers to be fair in well populated area so it shouldn't be a surprise to be fair.
