That referee shouldn’t be let near a hurling game again I know that’s very cliché but he absolutely did Belmont out of a win
There was at least 2 throws before he blew full time it was obvious to everyone in moyestown he was trying to get the draw for kk
Free after free after free and kk could take them from a good distance from where it was given
That kinda performance is inexcusable simple
As for Belmont if they were a bit more clinical they would have won too many dropped balls in the forwards
Kk did look like they were missing some firepower missed a good few chances of thier own
Of the team that Kilcormac/Killoughey started in the county final I make it 7 of them didn’t start today.
Oisin Mahon
Cillian Kiely
Enda Grogan
Leigh Kavanagh
Ter Guinan
Charlie Mitchell
Adam Screeney
And Belmont still couldn’t beat them? If you have serious championship aspirations you are beating that team that Kilcormac/Killoughey started today.
1. When did anybody ever state Belmont had serious championship aspirations? It appears you’ve invented that theory in order to have a dig.
2. Belmont were also down a lot of starters including Oisín Kelly, Leon Fox, Paddy Clancy and Cathal Flynn.
3. Belmont weren’t far off relegation last year. KK won both the Senior A and Senior B last year and most observers expected KK to win comfortably today. Belmont would’ve taken a draw this morning.
Who said Belmont have aspirations of winning it? Theyve never been in a final in their history. We’re in relegation last year and are missing 5 starters from last year? That was a good result for them today theyll be doing well to stay up

Cillian Kiely did not start the county final
Correct. KK were down 6 from the county final.
Belmont are down 6 of their best team in my opinion if you also include Jack Egan and Conor Butler who are both abroad.
Dress it up whatever way you like but KK people at the game were very disappointed with the performance.

Great results today and it shows how open this championship is...
B/D are over hyped and are K/K as good as everyone thinks they are ?
As most people know Belmont were missing key players too.
but yet both will be there or there abouts come final day kk will be anyway . Birr had a good win but still depend on Cahill for there scores. Coolderry could be a dark horse.
If K/K can get all their players back they are the team to beat and will probably win it out. They had a full team last year and deatroyed everyone other than Ballianamere.
If they don’t get their players back then it’s wide open with Shinrone and Coolderry likely to have a big say.
Good win for Shinrone over Rynaghs, although when I saw the 2 teams named, I thought a bit of a trimming was in store.
Rynaghs fought hard but the class shone out in the end.
Power Rankings:
KK
Shinrone
Coolderry
Ballinamere
Birr
Rynaghs
Belmont
Tullamore
Kinnitty
Seir Kieran
Looks like the kk senior team missing players will gave a significant impact on the senior B championship. Kk bet in senior B by lusma by 8. Probably will be relegation from Senior A championship this year.
Carrig and clara with good wins.
In junior A , brosna gaels with a huge win over a struggling crinkle.

Big wake up call for Ballinamere to be beaten by that much by a Coolderry team that they would see as behind them in the pecking order. They certainly have a team that should challenge KK for honours over next 6-8 years going by their playing personnel but that home loss will have them crashing back to earth. Might be best thing that happens them if it means they get themselves in order. You'd still expect them to get out of group comfortably but likely now into a q-final place.
Birr beating Clareen so comprehensively was a surprise, albeit the win was not. Clareen, Kinnity and a much improved Tullamore will be seen as likely relegation candidates but Tullamore have some good players coming through and with the Egans and few more back hurling, I could see them challenge for a q final spot. There will be a swell of money going on KK this year but like any team, if they are missing two or three key guys, it evens things out. Mitchell, Kiely and Screeney will likely return but theyll need them to win again in 25. The young players are very good technically but they are still reliant on the older guys for physicality, size and leaders like Slevin Kilmartin and Conor Mahon. Take them out and I am not so sure KK would win a senior championship, despite the influx of their younger 'golden generation'.
Killoughey Senior Bs started 12 who started last year's Senior B semi-final against the same opposition, losing just two to the Senior team. So theyre not exactly decimated. The sides met twice last year, Killoughey won the group game by something like four points (from memory), and the semi-final was a draw that Killoughey won in extra time. So a Lusmagh win isn't exactly Veil of the Temple stuff.
Looking at their Senior Bs yesterday, and having regard for the Seniors' draw with Belmont, I'd say Killoughey haven't much hurling preparation done yet. But that'll come.

Pat Donegan. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.
"Offaly's hurling is exact and abrasive: full of assurance on the ball, devoid of fumbling and slicing and sod-busting". Kevin Cashman RIP (September 1994).
This is all true POTH regarding K/K’s Senior B’s. But if you delve further into the analysis you will see that K/K’s Senior A team versus Belmont used 4 players who played in last year’s Senior B final. Peter and Tomas Geraghty, James Gorman and Mark Mulrooney.
So realistically if you are promoted from Senior B to Senior A you are one of the best players on the Senior B team. Going by this logic K/K have now lost their 4 best Senior B hurlers. If any team in any sport lost their 4 best players it would dramatically lessen their chances of winning whatever competition they were entered in.
Therefore it would seem to me one of the other teams in the Senior B should claim the honours this year. Lusmagh and Carrig & Riverstown being the frontrunners
I actually got the score wrong in the kk/lusma match. 2 -20 to 15 is a sizeable swing from last year.
I dont see kk winning the senior b after doing two in a row and I think we will have a new county champion at that level in 2025. Carrig I feel would be favourites.
