Could be a double header with Kildare and Dublin in the hurling.
We were drawn to play Wicklow first, but because we played Wicklow already, the revised draw placed Offaly away to Kildare. A tough one in Newbridge.

I am just curious why the q/final draw avoids re-fixtures?

Back to Newbridge.

Kildare Part 3.

Good thing we have Keith, Cormac and Ru back to full fitness. Cillian Bourke is flying it.

St. Conleth’s Park pitch is tighter than OCP, but not as narrow as before. Kildare couldn’t handle Cormac in any game yet.

Daniel Flynn has returned to serious form, but you could say the same for Dylan Hyland, also fully fit again.

If ever there was a chance to see how much progress we’ve made under Mickey Harte it’s this weekend.

We really have to be at our best. Have to start well as we have done previously against Kildare and sustain that. We need to take our points when we can as we force goals too often. Kildare will give up goal chances and we have the players to score them, but we need to just take a handy shot when needed.

We have a very good chance, and we have the form. Kildare have been better since the League Final, but could have lost to Sligo last week. Game could go absolutely any way.

Tough ask to beat Kildare 3 times in the one year.
Advantage is that we had a handy game last week.

3 games in Newbridge this year so far, nice little ground and a handy spin up to it. Hopefully a good crowd goes to support in what could be the last intercounty game if the year.
Will need a serious performance to win and if we can get that, we would be favourites to win it overall.

Pressure on Kildare I guess as the home team and they wont be lacking in any motivation. We were lucky to get over the line in the league final as the legs were gone. What will lose it could be the fact that we havnt turned to the bench more during the year.
Mgt will argue that they did on Sat and the wheels came off to a certain degree but there are a few guys who have not performed and are still playing so it says that the mgt still think that they are the best options.
Best of luck to the lads.

Best of luck to the team and all involved.

Kildare part III
Going to be tough and weather forecast from Friday onwards is brutal.
Could be a big test for there new pitch as it was a bit of a bog before hand.

Double header in Newbridge next Saturday.
Kildare v Dublin Hurling at 4 o’clock.
Kildare v Offaly Football at 6:30.

Not sure of the cross-code support in KE but getting into Newbridge is going to be a nightmare. Not sure if Conleth’s is going to be able for a 15k crowd
Peter Parker: I missed the part where that's MY problem.

15,000????? Not a prayer.

Will they get half that?

Dublin would bring max 1,000. At a stretch.
Can’t see us topping 1,000 either.

So you expect 5,500 from Kildare? For a hurling game they are probably going to get hammered in (and they have a tiny hurling following) and a football game in a competition their supporters couldn’t care less about.

If this tops 7,500 I’d be shocked.

Train/bus is best option here. Only a mug would drive
The stadium itself had good set up when offaly played there a few weeks ago in fairness. Pitch still very narrow. Daniel Flynn back for Kildare. I'd be amazed if Offaly can win this. Offaly with a young team just don't have enough fire power and haven't beaten a team in championship that they weren't supposed to beat in a long time. Kikdare seem to be on the ascendancy. Won their group easily but it should be a close game whatever happens.

be hard one to win, seen what westmeath did to laois at the weekend after they beat offaly. if offaly are not switched on could be a long evening and a repeat of the laois display will see a hammering.

Yes, Offaly haven’t beaten someone they weren’t supposed to in a long time, since *checks notes* 2023 when we beat Meath

I’d say Offaly have their best forward line nearly since they won Leinster in 1997

Bad Meath team managed by Colm O'Rourke. We went on to get beaten convincingly by Wexford in Tailteann cup QF that year. Don't think we've beaten anyone else of note in my living memory.

The same bad meath team that went on to win the tailteann cup that year with a degree of ease

Surely there will be a bit of a buzz around the hurlers and with an opportunity to play dublin and get a rattle at them, any and all kildare hurling supporters will show up.. kildare will be on a high, look no doubt they will be easy pickings Leinster next year for everyone including offaly but at the weekend they could well rattle a poor dublin team

If Meath played Offaly in Tailteann cup that year they would've won also. Leinster championship largely irrelevant and Offaly beat them in a meaningless game for both teams. Tailteann cup is Offalys championship, There's literally nothing to be gained from Leinster for anyone now.
