I hope Dan ravenhill is OK.
He played great tonight and was very good on the frees.

Our path will likely be;

Group - Laois
QF - Dublin/Wexford
SF - Kilkenny
Final - Galway

Disappointing performance but not unexpected.

Hurled reasonably well in the first half but let in two really soft goals which effectively killed the game.

We lacked firepower up front.

It’s a tough run from here out and you’d have to chalk us down as underdogs at this remove.

The fixture pile up will take its toll on a team that’s already threadbare with injuries.

If we could get Screeney, Hand and Larkin back and fit - we won’t be too far off.

I’m just glad this team got its title last year and the pressure is off to a certain extent.

these lads owe us nothing we have had a great 3 year's and they have there all ireland . the next few year's lets hope they grown into top class senior player's also. we could still make a leinster final thats 4 games along with the seniors its alot of game time in the space of a few weeks. we have to mind theses young players as we will need them all in the next few years.

Absolutely brilliant to see Screeney back starting at 15, and equally so to see Larkin and Scully back on the subs. Hopefully we can get some game time into them both ahead of what’s to come in a few weeks time.

Job done. A professional performance I’d say.

We still haven’t yet clicked in the way we have the past three years and in that regard, I think it’s no harm we have an extra game in the knockouts to find that rhythm and fluidity in our play.

I thought Lyons and Rigney were excellent today.

Screeney is being eased back in nicely but Ravenhill missing is a worry.

If my working out is correct we can expect to play Dublin in the QF but if we’re to beat Kilkenny/Galway we’ll need everybody fit and firing.

Agreed, a professional performance and one which was required to get ourselves back on track.

One would assume Ravenhill wasn’t risked, perhaps overcoming a minor knock from the game on Tuesday.

Similarly it was great to see Screeney gradually easing himself into the game today, some fine scores too.

Rigney was very impressive once again and is close to exploding once again, hopefully in the knockout rounds.

Shirley just keeps getting better and better. His athleticism, vision and all round skill is something else.

Massive plus in the performance of Lyons, really adds a serious threat up front and a serious ball winner.

Rurai was immense! Along with Lyons he was my man of the match. Absolutely flying it at the moment.

By my reckoning we’ll play Dublin in a quarter final, and assuming it’s home and away that game would be in Tullamore on the 5th of May.

A massive game that we’ll need to be close to our best to get across the line. With the winner facing a mouth watering trip to play Kilkenny in Nowlan Park.

Now is when the real hurling begins. This is the stage these lads really come alive!

On the Leinster GAA website the winner of the preliminary QF is listed first so unless Dublin and Offaly have a home-away arrangement, that game would be in Parnell?

Ravenhill didn’t look too bad going off v Galway
So hopefully whatever it is won’t be serious

Some key things
We are very good with ball to hand some great balls caught in the forwards

Shot accuracy seems to be very good didn’t hit many wides v Galway or Laois

Forwards got some nice scores backs fought hard for everything

Some handling errors dropped balls loose passes

That’s was a good win got good time into screeney

We are missing the dan bourke kinda player picking up breaking balls and making runs

But as the game went on it looked like Connor Doyle is taking the role

Eighth-finals appear to be:
winner tier 2 group 1 (Kildare) v third tier 1 group 1 (Leix); and
winner tier 2 group 2 (probably Antrim, but to be confirmed*) v third tier 1 group 2 (Dublin)
(As I understand it, the preliminary winners are at home (though that wouldn't apply to Antrim)).
* If Antrim win, draw or lose to Meath by <8 points on Tuesday evening.

Offaly play the winner of the eighth-final involving Dublin. On the basis home/away arrangements apply to knockout games only and not group games, that one would be at a Dublin venue.

good win saturday we got better as the game went on. Screeney minutes back on the field he looks sharp but what a gem Patrick Lyons can be he was outstanding saturday evening his great to win a ball and has a good hand on him. i think the dubs play westmeath next and then offaly. would offaly not have home view offaly beat them in parnell park last year in round robin and portlaoise in the final.
