Dara Bates was excellent Jake Maher after a poor start kicking the ball away for there first goal played decent after. We were short in a few positions which meant haven to move lads around into positions they aren’t familiar with
David ORourke tried hard at midfield but defo not his best position but is a good prospect
Jack Maher was the first sub brought on in the last 2 games and was defo worthy of a start here had a decent second half
Conor Melia is an excellent prospect in goals too.
The seniors could get 2/3 more lads from this crop of 20s along with Cillian Bourke which isn’t bad.
Overall I don’t think anybody expected much from this group but at least the restored some proud last night and gave it a good rattle .
Dara Bates had a really good first half. Took too much out of it in the second half and was repeatedly overturned. Lots of potential though.
Kalem Bryan looks like a player that has real potential too. High skill level and can score. Should be stronger next year.
David O Rourke is decent but he is being over hyped by reporters.
John Colgan was exposed badly in both games so it's not a case of being played out of position. Unfortunately just not up to that level.
Jake Maher was excellent both days for a player that will be playing minor club this year.
Jack Daly was also excellent.
Niall Furlong was disappointing in both games for a player that is playing his 3rd year at this level. He was on what I believe was Dublins best player in Charlie McMorrow though.

Playing for pride next week. Meath have top spot secured as they have the head to head over Dublin and Westmeath. It will be interesting to see what team they field.

A respectable performance last the effort was there and definitely some future talent
I don't think that Dublin team is going to be world beaters but they knew there stuff
The Faithful fields curse seams to effecting the teams I can't be the only one to spot
This .
Enjoy the sunshine everyone

Offaly are fielding a very different team for tomorrow night. Players are starting who haven't been on the 2 previous panels.

A very underwhelming campaign.

Meath will probably go with a weakened team too, as they are top of the group regardless of tomorrow's outcome.

Meath have made 15 changes to tomorrow nights team. A dead rubber and a lot of expense for a nothing game.

First of all its a shame that we have nothing to play for from competing in the championship.
But expense is the last thing to be considered. To a degree our seniors had nothing to play for going down to Waterford and they put in a decent shift, and similarly the footballers in Clare, (ok different but a 10 point cushion was in place).

But for these lads, some of whom may feel hard done by and would like to prove a point, and or are happy to get a chance to play championship football and make an impact in a game, that is what is important.
I'm not even going down the route of saying that some of them might never play for the county again and that this game is meaningless, but that it is a chance for a lad to make a case.

Ultimately there will be plenty of desire amongst the Meath lads getting a chance to stake a claim so they should be going at it fairly hard.

Hopefully we have 15 committed men on the field starting and for some of them maybe next years capmpaign starts tonight.

We were lucky Meath rested their first 15. Scraped over the line against Meaths second team. We had 9 starters from the last game. Meath had 0.
The whole year has been extremely disappointing.
Till next year…

Yes disappointing but each years team is as important to support as the last’s for future - who knows how these players develop - there are a number who remain u20 for another year.

Ah Carthage cmon now, bit of shamrocks bias though no? This team could really do with a ball winner like Bobby odea a durrow stallion who dominated the middle third of the pitch. I hear he has a younger brother who shoots 2 pointers well but his liking for the drink sets him a peg or two

Lots lads can do the business but when it’s comes to intercounty it’s a different story

You have to respect the lads that are in there ,sometimes a team just clicks and you play really well other times you struggle to compete

It’s always going to be tough to play Dublin and Meath , Westmeath went well last year

We had a decent team after our all Ireland win but with a target on your head and expectations from within the county it’s not that easy

We got a win against a second string Meath team (no disrespect to any players who put in the effort)
Andrew Corden trophy next wednesday hopefully we put our a decent team after last years fiasco..
An unusual campaign I think the talent is there but some of the managerial decisions
And trying to blame a player being injured as
A massive issue doesn't bode well with me
A team is more than one person
Especially in a condensed competition.

I must say, I was thoroughly captivated by the performance of the Mucklagh native, who has just concluded his inaugural campaign with the Shamrocks Senior Football Team. Earlier this evening, I found myself involuntarily twinkling my toes in admiration.

Bate’s score was nothing short of exquisite—a moment of pure class. Receiving a pinpoint pass from his clubmate, the ever-reliable David O'Rourke, Bates collected the ball both with poise and precision. With a quick glance to survey the field, he set off, harnessing a potent blend of blistering pace and raw strength to leave Meath’s Cillian Yore in his wake.

As he surged forward, Bates executed a deft pivot at the edge of the two-point line, before launching the ball high into the Ashbourne night sky. It sailed gracefully over the bar, a score as elegant as it was emphatic

I'm not normally a fan of shitposting, but this I approve of. Eloquently put, The big hill.
