It's a developmental grade. Counties use it to either try lads out and to keep lads not good enough yet for u20 grade in the system. Wouldn't pass any remarks on it.

As expected Kilkenny topped their group after a 3-20 to 2-16 victory over Dublin yesterday.
They have qualified directly for a semi-final and have a 38 day wait for that game.

Any idea what the team will look like tomorrow evening? Is Screeney close to returning ? Other injuries on the panel?

Offaly look to be a full strength for tomorrow bar Ter gunian and Daniel Hand. Whether they risk all the lads or not is to be seen.

Team was announced to the panel last night but I haven’t saw it on any social media.private joker wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 6:35 pm Offaly look to be a full strength for tomorrow bar Ter gunian and Daniel Hand. Whether they risk all the lads or not is to be seen.
I know a couple of the players but I respect their position in that they can’t be telling the team to others. So no idea whether any of the Screeney, Rigney et al will feature.

You would like to think that anyone who is asked to play is fit to do so, and that there's no risk attached.private joker wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 6:35 pm Offaly look to be a full strength for tomorrow bar Ter gunian and Daniel Hand. Whether they risk all the lads or not is to be seen.
Kevin Egan. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.

Strong side to be fair.
Considering you are missing Screeney, Ter Guinan, Scully and Hand who would all probably be starting.

I find it hard to see Offaly winning this game to be honest. Adam Screeney and Ter Guinan are absolutely huge losses. Plus Shane Rigney will undoubtedly be rusty.
Ter Guinan is seemingly out for at least 3 months.
Galway by 4 plus unfortunately.

The fact Screeney is named first on the extended panel makes me think there could be a late change and he be added to the bench or even start.private joker wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 10:15 am Team posted. Rigney in, screeney on extended panel , that could change.

Yeah it’s hard to see us winning.frankthetank wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 12:04 pm I find it hard to see Offaly winning this game to be honest. Adam Screeney and Ter Guinan are absolutely huge losses. Plus Shane Rigney will undoubtedly be rusty.

Galway’s first ever home game at this level as well as them already having a game under their belts plus Dan and Donal hurled 48 hours ago.
It would be a mini miracle if we pull this off.

Add Caelum Larkin to that list aswell.
I honestly see us doing well, even without the lads named. There is a lot of experience in that team. 8 of last year starting team from an all Ireland final are there. As far as I'm aware 6 (possibly 7) of that starting team are in with our seniors and are regularly starting or named on the subs. And many of the others have played in the all Ireland minor final 3 years ago.
Similar sentiments apply I think to all those lads who you named will come back into the side and will boost us in knock out hurling. It's a good opportunity for other lads to put their hand up. It would be great to win the game, but it won't be easy.
I must admit I don't know a whole lot about Galway bar they played in a minor final in 2023, with the only name of note being young Niland, but they will go along way to match our lads for experience at this u20 grade. The same will apply to any team we come up against. Offaly are 11/4......Even with our injuries, and knowing that this is not a knock our fixture, I think that's worth a nibble, as we are overpriced I feel.

What's the nature of Caelums injury? I see he's not even listed on the extended panel where our other injured players are.
