Seen a report on echolive, 6 point defeat in what was described as a onesided affair.

Video (not great quality) available here: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNeoFuUJg/. Looks like fairly typical early season stuff. Offaly trying to use the ball well. Even in this short clip, a few questionable calls from the ref! Bit of a home towner 😬

Have we ever heard as good of a day in Portlaoise?

Hammered Laois in hurling and football.

Can’t fault any of the hurlers, fantastic win.
Duignan, Mitchell, Ravenhill all showed well out in front in the first half but pucked some bad wides.
They had a great second half.
We also wasted a few goal chances,
Oisin Kelly had a great game, fielding some great high balls.

Spain and King were fantastic in midfield, they hurled the whole park.
Best game I’ve seen from Padraig Cantwell in an Offaly jersey.
Donal Shirley looks so natural at centre back.
Mark Troy made some fantastic saves early on.

Massive result in Carlow with the hosts downing Waterford. Gives a boost regarding our draw against them last week.
Unfortunately we don’t have Waterford until the last weekend where they should have plenty of their regulars back.

There was some awful negativity on here last weekend after the draw with Carlow, hopefully the same levels of positivity are displayed this week!

Great results in portlaoise today. I think people forget sometimes that these are still young men. I think the mcdonagh and under 20 all-ireland wins last year have given the lads a great confidence boost and belief in themselves. They will make mistakes along the way, but that's part of the learning curve at this level. I for one believe that there,s another great year ahead for offaly hurling

Complete opposite of last weekend

Good discipline, move the ball well and took our scores very well when the opportunity presented

Every player worked up and down the field and a credit to them some were still hanging about chatting young supporters signing autographs.

Colin Spain was brilliant just to point out 1 player.

Those who would like to see lights in Glenisk OCP or Grant Heating SBP should note the state of the Portlaoise pitch today. Worn from being played on afternoon and evening. A patchwork of sand. Players slipping and sliding all over the place. Barely playable.

I'd prefer OCP and SBP the way they currently are all year around, thank you.
Pat Donegan. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.

OCP wasn’t in great shape last week again Carlow , with players struggling big time to lift the sliothar

Tullamore was in great shape compared to other pitches around the country.

Lights on more pitches would mean greater spread of games , O Moore park wouldn’t be like that if other pitches in the midlands were floodlit

Are you saying Offaly GAA or other midlands counties should put floodlights on their county grounds to take the pressure off O’Moore Park? 🤣
95% of the load that would be on O’Moore Park would be from internal Laois club games or county training games.

A good win for both the footballer and hurlers.
5 points keep you in 1B
We are one win away from that after two games. Not bad.

Antrim next won't be easy but on we go.
