National Hurling Leagues

Post by faithfulfanatic »

Kilkenny have a strong enough team named heading to Ennis, with a very weak lineup from Clare.
I think Lohan said 10 of the 15 from the All ireland are injured.
He also stopped Meehan, Hogan and Crotty from hurling Fitzgibbon in the week.
Kilkenny by 4.

Galway and Tipp in Pearse Stadium under lights.
Could be like hurling in the eye of the hurricane in Salthill.
Both with a few newcomers starting.
Galway by 2.

Cork and Wexford
Cork have gone full steam ahead with their team, while Wexford are missing a lot of their regulars.
Cork by 7.

Dublin also have a few new faces as they welcome Davy and Antrim to Parnell Park.
Word from Dublin is that Niall O’Ceallachain has been double jobbing all winter, training Na Fianna and Dublin, which takes a fair level of effort. He’s the only Na Fianna body involved this weekend which is fair enough. Few new faces for the Dubs, no Antrim team named. I expect Antrim will come with a fair bit of bite.
Dublin by 3.

Westmeath and Laois.
Westmeath are without a good few starters, in a game they would otherwise be fancied for.
Laois by 2.

From the lower leagues, I see Leon Fox has joined Conor Clancy on the Louth side, with Leon named at 6 and Conor in goals as they face Fermanagh.
I know James Hardiman of Kinnitty hurled with Roscommon last year and Cathal O’Brien of Shamrocks hurled for Donegal last year.
Hardiman qualified under the parents rule while O’Brien has transferred to a club in Donegal and is living up there.
I haven’t seen a team named for either county yet.

Anyone know of any other Offaly lads involved in the lower leagues?
