Tipsters - Round 13 Results

Post by Lone Shark »

Once again folks, apologies for my sporadic appearances and shoddy maintenance of this proud competition over the past few weeks. Working life resumes next monday, so I promise all will be back to normal by then!

Anyway, the star of round 13 was Hocker, whose 11 points was the highest score of the week and also pushes him back into contention for the overall league title. A "Special Achievement" award to Ballymanabroad, who managed to get the seven points on offer for the hurling draw, and then got the other four results wrong. Whether it's a good or bad achievement I'm not quite sure.....

Anyway, updated table here:

70 Lone Shark
68 Mighty Pair o' Hands
67 Del
66 Bart

Tipsters round 13 should not stand as they were not posted by Lone Shark which is why I did not enter. They were posted as Tipsters just in case. Usually it would be Tipsters - Round 13. One person does the fixtures which is Lone Shark otherwise we could all post fixtures.

Last week was a bit different, and I did post on the thread to say that if we got up to a certain threshold (20) it would count.

I'm aware of the ambiguity however, so how about this?

Any poster who either doesn't take part, or has 40 points or less (i.e. out of league contention) can post their verdict here on whether or not it should count. I'm happy to stand by the majority ruling. Like I said, I wasn't trying to give any advantage to anyone, but just execute the fairest way possible in the circumstances.

I would post a poll, but then I couldn't tell who was suggesting what. We should also allow turkeys to vote for Christmas in this case. i.e. if you took part, but think it shouldn't count, then say so. If you didn't take part but think that it should count, say so too. After all those voters clearly wouldn't be voting out of personal advantage.

Let the people speak....

Arra sure of course it should count. I saw that thread and just didn't take the time to post my own ideas. Twenty other folks did so what difference does it make who took the time and effort to post up the list of games.

Anyway, I dont think it will make a big difference in deciding who receives the substantial prize at the end. That's the only reason why I normally take it so seriously.

personally, I saw the competition but decided not to post due to a few different reasons - mainly that i didnt think it would count. So, personally i wouldn't like it to stand - so that is my official answer (but if it does go ahead i wont boycott the site).

For what its worth (absolutely nothing) i would have gone with the following:

shannonbridge
Clara
Kinnity
St Brigids
Tullamore

Surely if someone seen the thread there and that there was people posting their predictions on it, that they would of done likewise!

Why wouldn't you? It wasn't gonna do any harm!
