Offaly minor football panel 2025
Offaly minor football panel 2025
Taughts on the 2025 provisional panel for minors? Looks to be a good spread. Tullamore have 8 in, Edenderry next highest with 6 (somehow), clara 5, Rhode 5, St manchens 4, ferbane 3, Shamrocks 4, vincents 3, St broughans 2, na fianna 2, gracefield 1, kk 1 Oliver plunketts 1.Anyone familiar with any of these? Hopefully we have a good year ahead.

Re: Offaly football panel 2025
The spread is about right in terms of how the clubs performed at u 15 level in 2023. Tullamore were very dominant but nearly got caught by Clara in the final who have some very good players . Surprised Edenderry have 6 but look I’m sure the selectors etc have been looking at a lot of matches and picked the best that they think can do a job. I’d imagine another 10 or so to dropped off it anyway
Shouldn’t be a bad group with a bit of potential

I haven't seen the list, but it's a safe bet that's Joe Rouse, son of Paul Rouse, who's playing his club football with Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh in Cabra (I think??). Navan Road anyway, coming out of Drumcondra.
Kevin Egan. Signed out of respect for players and all involved with Offaly.

Yes, he was on the panel last year but deemed ineligible to play championship. Not aware of what does or does not make him eligible to play this year.
Re: Offaly minor football panel 2025
Without this turning into anything personal , I do have some genuine questions at the more global level.
- does a player have to reside in or play with a club in the county to play inter-county at underage level?
- does the rule that allowed Shane horkan play senior, apply to minor/u20?
- the pros - boost an underage panel with outside help, if player can play senior in the future then why not bring them in early to the setup, with the migration of population to the cities it helps connect the diaspora.
- the cons - if the player can’t play championship then someone else is losing out a place on the panel, devalues local players if outside help jumps above them, we are a parish rule county and this is against our ethos.

Thanks. Did Conor Evans from Edenderry/ Ballyfore transfer there in the past 10/15 years?Lone Shark wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2024 2:19 pm I haven't seen the list, but it's a safe bet that's Joe Rouse, son of Paul Rouse, who's playing his club football with Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh in Cabra (I think??). Panel was picked..no surprises, very strong panel, hopefully they go on a good run
Re: Offaly minor football panel 2025
I would like to see the panel and maybe even comment but is it posted or published anywhere ?
Re: Offaly minor football panel 2025
Minors should be strong group this year. They nearly won Adam Mangan Cup at u15 level. While wouldn't have any issue with a panel being displayed here, I'd be very wary that comments on minor players should not be allowed on the forum. They are all u17 and are developing at various rates and shouldn't be topic of any written discussion to be totally fair to them.
