Anyone at the Clara V Shannonbridge match?
Be interested to hear how this game went if anyone was at the match.
I was at it. Clara people will count it as a good win and too many wides from scoreable positions kept Shannonbridge in it. Tomo Deehan and Reynolds both missed a couple of easy chances. And Tomo had a goal chance that everyone in the Doon would have put their house on him scoring. He dragged it wide. Shannonbridge took the lead with a goal midway through the first half, but clara clawed a few points back. Willie Reynolds came on at half time for Clara and seemed to turn the game. Winning a lot of scrappy ball and John O'Hara looked very lively in the full forward line with the 2 county boys. And Deehan stiched a super goal early on in the second half that put clara 3 points up. They added on a few more scores, and kept Shannonbridge scoreless up until the last few minutes of the match.
There were some strong challenges all through the game, but nothing really malicious, but the worst refereeing decision i've seen in a long time, was when all but 5 or 6 players were inside the clara half, and most of them inside the clara 45, Cooney through in a ball in to a crowd of players and inevitably a brawl followed. If he was going to throw the ball in he should have brought to players away from the crowd as before it was even thrown in, everyone in the crowd knew the fight was going to happen.
