They brought out a new jersey (and other polo shirts etc) last year which featured the new copyrighted Offaly GAA logo, its otherwise very similar to the jersey used for 2004. I don't think it would be fair on parents of our younger supporters to be changing the jersey again so soon.

Having seen some of the God awful new creations out there (Wexford's springing to mind in particular) this is certainly no bad thing. Between new jerseys, adjustments to new jerseys and new crests in recent years, we've had a lot of small jersey changes even though it feels like it hasn't changed.

Also I'd say the county board will wait until there's a renewed burst of optimism in the county before releasing one. If you put it out now, take up would be fairly low - if you waited until after the hurlers or footballers have a good run, you'll do a lot better.

new new shirt

Long time since i posted i know... but summer's on its way, ground might firm up any month soon... bit more zip in the sliotar...

but about the shirt... i've often thought that a replica vintage shirt would sell well - always thought the '72 football jerseys were a very sale-able classic... simple green jersey with striking white v-neck and collar... lots of retro chic

only thing is the 'gold' socks... can't see them moving very well...

but if anyone wants to take me up on the shirts...

Agree on the retro Jersey, I'd love to buy one.

Also, what about having a dedicated weekend during the league for retro kits, like they have in oz.
T'would be a great excuse for a 70's afro wig if nothing else 8)

I'm sure the people who bought the short-lived jersey that so upset some bods on the county board so much they had to change it again would be eager for another change. Image
