I don't like to comment too much on this, being anything but a championship standard player myself - but surely players must be getting sick of this six month season, with six weeks between games?

To all the lads out there that will be lining out in the coming weeks - would ye not prefer to start a lot later, even if it means cramming the games in tightly?

True, I've always said Brigid's were better than the Bridge .....

Nah, I've no idea how the league form is this year, except that I still believe ye wanted to win a lot more than Ballycumber did last year.

If ye win the game and Guinan is fit and held to one score or less, then I'll have to consume of the humblest of pies all right. We'll see though.....

(Dammit - I'm home that weekend, and I was going to go to the Bridge game - that changes things. Why do we have to put games alongside each other? Surely that would have made a good double header right there?)

Lusmagh v Belmont stands out as a second/third place play-off. A pity its in the first round, the loser will definitely be out of the running.

This is why the current system is a joke. You can talk about backdoor all you like, but Belmont and Lusmagh are in a do or die situation in April right now - and only beating Birr would save either if they lose - that seems very harsh to me.

Birr vs Clara. We're definitely going to have to come up with some new system for the tipping competition for that one.
