Re: Junior A Hurling
big win for shinrone, how are they so good at this level there not just beaten teams there hammering them.i was at killeigh game ,raheens were in front at half time and were unlucky at the end.killeigh were not at the races and were expected to win this game pulling up.they will get it hard against k/k and shirone,i think top 3 will be shinrone,k/k then killeigh and dog fight for 4th place.

Re: Junior A Hurling
was just on offaly gaa results website, i think the table is wrong in group one of the junior hurling.they have raheens on a point but i think they only played 2 games and lost the 2.they have seir kierans on 3 points and i think they only won 1 game and have killeigh down for 7 points when they only played and won 3 games.must be and error or something.
Re: Junior A Hurling
Shinrone hammered Raheen they beat Seir Kieran by 5pts annd K/K by 6pts hardly hammerings by any stretch of the imagination,Martin Murray wasnt playing for K/K the other night and he would probably be their best player at centre back!kingscounty wrote:big win for shinrone, how are they so good at this level there not just beaten teams there hammering them.i was at killeigh game ,raheens were in front at half time and were unlucky at the end.killeigh were not at the races and were expected to win this game pulling up.they will get it hard against k/k and shirone,i think top 3 will be shinrone,k/k then killeigh and dog fight for 4th place.
Have to agree about the the top three and for me the fourth place will probably be Seir Kieran!
Shinrone will be there or abouts come the business end of the championship but with their senior team going to make a quarter final at least they could lose some of their best players which would weaken them considerably!

Re: Junior A Hurling
i thought the score in shinrone k/k was shinrone 5-15 k/k 2-15.it was 5-12 to 2-15 i got that wrong thats why i thought shinrone won by 9 points.was k/k centre back injured or was he just not available?i agree shinrone and other teams in this grade will lose players due to them going up to play either inter or senior later on in the championship.it should be interesting battle between the top 3 to see who tops the group.
Re: Junior A Hurling
As far as I know Murray has a broken finger and will be out for a few weeks,he is a huge loss to K/K!kingscounty wrote:i thought the score in shinrone k/k was shinrone 5-15 k/k 2-15.it was 5-12 to 2-15 i got that wrong thats why i thought shinrone won by 9 points.was k/k centre back injured or was he just not available?i agree shinrone and other teams in this grade will lose players due to them going up to play either inter or senior later on in the championship.it should be interesting battle between the top 3 to see who tops the group.
Result from yesterday Raheen 2-8 K/K 1-11 great result for Raheen considering they got hammered by Shinrone in their first game they seem to have turned things around!
Seir Kieran play Killiegh this evening in Clareen this could be a very interesting game Seir Kieran on a high after beating Drumcullen and Killiegh struggling to overcome Raheen,a Seir Kieran win would throw this group wide open!
Re: Junior A Hurling
I wouldn't look to much into raheens lost to shinrone they were missing 5 starter. Yes shinrone would still have won but with a full team raheen would of made a better game of it Raheen will take great heart for yesterdays result and will really but it up to who ever they meet this year. As for killeigh they have come on leaps this year but i think they're still a year or two form a real push for the championship.Yesterday was the first time i seen k/k play this year and they looked like they need a couple of forwards miss a lot of good scoring chances yesterday.I just can't see anyone stopping shinrone this year if the can hold on to the main part of their team
Re: Junior A Hurling
Result from tonights game in Clareen
Seir Kieran 2-10 Killiegh 4-18
Huge win for Killiegh the shock of nearly getting beaten by Raheen must have done them no harm at all!

Re: Junior A Hurling
As far as I know he has been hurling Junior for Shinrone this year anyway?! A few shocks recently at this level with Raheen putting it up to Killeigh and then drawing with Kilcormac. It now looks like it's gonna be between Shinrone & Killeigh to see who tops the group so it will be interesting to see what happens when these two meet. Did Shinrone lose any players to Senior against Coolderry at the weekend?KingLurk wrote:I thought Murphy was Ballyskenach?keenonsport wrote: Yes Shinrone have a good young team with the likes of Damien Murphy, Joe & Darragh Cleary

Re: Junior A Hurling
shinrone are certs for the junior A no team could hold a candle to them... there were missing two again k/k the so called best in it! only one thing is for is sure shinrone are probly ten points better than the rest!
Re: Junior A Hurling
An interesting question alright. If these Shinrone juniors are as good as we are hearing theres every chance they may have got Shinrone over the line against Coolderry when they were there for the taking. It would have been a bad slip up by shinrone if they have any ambition to hold these lads back for junior when a game was there for the taking and a more favourable draw in the quarter finals at stake. Anybody at the game to confirm if this was the case?
Re: Junior A Hurling
Bit early for predictions like this,Shinrone are one of the main contenders in this championship without doubt, but if they are ten points better than the rest how come they beat an average Seir Kieran team by five and K/K by six, when K/K were missing Murray.Perhaps when Shinrone play Killiegh in the group game we will know exactly how good they are!fact not fiction wrote:shinrone are certs for the junior A no team could hold a candle to them... there were missing two again k/k the so called best in it! only one thing is for is sure shinrone are probly ten points better than the rest!
Not saying that Shinrone wont win the Junior A but ten points better than all the rest reality check please!

Re: Junior A Hurling
shinrone are only geting warmed up id say and rumour has it there only starting to train.... think killiegh will be just as fit as them and probly fitter but when it cums down to hurling shinrone should be superior!
Re: Junior A Hurling
This weekends Junior A fixtures
group 1
Shinrone v Killiegh, whoever wins this will top the group Killiegh by 3points!
Seir Kieran v Edenderry, hard to see anything other than a Seir Kieran win 5-7 points!
Raheen v Drumcullen,Raheen have improved in their last two games and a win here would put them right back in with a chance of making the quarter final,Raheen by 3points!
group 2
Brosna Gaels v Belmont, tough one to call Brosna Gaels in a tight game 2-3 points!
Ballinamere v Tullamore, bit of bite to this one after Tullamores objection to St.Davids in the minor championship,Ballinamere to scrape home in a tough encounter!
Kinnittty v St.Rynaghs,Kinnitty lost a couple of lads to their senior team in the last round this should help Rynaghs and they may just have enough to beat Kinnitty here,Rynaghs by 5points!
