Post by offalyman08 »

Seen as the hurling debate is going on we might aswell get the football one going!

Anybody able to fill in the blanks here?

Rhode.... (Presume Coffey wont be sacked!)
Clara
Shamrocks
Tullamore
Tubber
Ferbane
Edenderry
Ballycumber
Walsh Island
St Rynaghs
Erin Rovers
Gracefield

I'd say it's reasonable to assume Tom Coffey will hold his position all right, presuming he wants it of course!

As for the others.....

Clara
Shamrocks
Tullamore - Benny O'Brien
Tubber - James Stewart
Ferbane - Ollie Daly
Edenderry - Peter Brady
Ballycumber - Eddie Bouabbse
Walsh Island - Gerry Hickey
St Rynaghs
Erin Rovers - Sonny Lynam
Gracefield - Padraig Dunne

Clara's case will pretty much be subject to Pat Flanagan's availability I would assume, while anyone who can anticipate what Shamrocks can do in advance would be well advised to do a double on the Grand National and the Derby because those kind of soothsaying powers shouldn't be let go to waste.

I think Ger Rafferty was the manager of Rynaghs last year but I'd have a sneaking suspicion that as a plumber by trade, he's not going to be short of work for the foreseeable future and with county football on the agenda as well, he may wish to let someone else take over. That said after all they achieved last year when he was planning for a wedding as well, why fix what's not broken? :D

Very true.. A mindfield not worth exploring!

Any truth in Pat Flanagan stepping aside this year?

I understand this is Coffey's last year but I guess that will depend on Leinster FInal etc.
I hear Phil Reilly has gone to one of the Mullingar clubs ??

I heard the Downs myself yesterday, but these rumours tend not to be slow gathering legs so it could be a Mullingar club either.

Think they are in big bother. Not much interest around the club.
