Umpires getting too involved ???

We seem to have umpires dying to get involved in matches calling in the ref for the least little thing , now I'm not saying the dont have a roll in the game , God knows ask anyone from Louth , but their has always been an element of "getting to know you opponent" whether it be from the throw in or if he comes on as a sub which I would think is fair enough once it doesnt go beyond that ?

Spoken like a true corner back In what other walk of life would 'getting to know you' entail kidney punches, rib elbows and walking on calf muscles? Corner backs should be jailed at birth

Couldn't disagree with the original poster more. Umpires, esp at intercounty should be involved more

In no other sport does a sub coming running on and instantly start hitting his man sly digs (or not so sly), to "get to know him"
