I Think we can give tipp one hell of a game.

its been a long times since we had a win over them in the championship(any one rememeber what year)

Hoppefully we get a big support over on sunday and give this one almight shot

Doubtful anyone will remember.

We've played them twice in the championship and lost both games, once in Portlaoise when Stephen Browne got goal of the year if I recall correctly, and once in Thurles under McIntyre when Tipp edged the result in the closing stages.

Also back in 2003 in Crow Park under Mike Mac.
A very flattering 5 point losing margin.

Dammit, I should have remembered that. I backed us plus six points that day on a handicap bet and Neville Coughlan's two late goals gave me an utterly undeserved winner. Second worst winning bet ever. (The worst was backing Offaly on the handicap as well - bonus point to anyone who guesses which match....)

I could be pedantic and point out that Gary Hanniffy got one of the late goals and Neville Coughlan the other. Even being 10 points down flattered Offaly.
The day was more memorable for a bunch of slack jawed yokels from Wexford who were on the Hill and a Tipperary man punching himself several times in the head to show he meant business during a scuffle.

I'd guess the award for most flattering and undeserved losing margin would be the infamous Offaly - Dublin league match in Parnell Park. Scoring 3-2 late on. Even the the results publishing section of the North Korean Ministry of Sport couldn't fathom such a misleading scoreline versus actual gameplay paradigm.

In fairness it was the most obvious neutral venue by a country mile. It's not that you'd expect Tipp to have any like or dislike of it, it's genuinely neutral.

As an aside, the Sunday fixture makes Dan Currams available as far as I'm aware? Be interesting to see if Parlon holds his place now....

The worst thing that could have happened was Parlon getting those 5 pints on Saturday. He'll defintley start on Sunday and will be blown out of the water.

if currams plays like he did again Antrim and watched the second half from the dressing room door the same day, plus left offaly with a mountain to climb
against galway with 14 men he to will be blown out of the water again tipp.

I can't see how Parlon can possibly be dropped for next Sunday after his superb performance on Saturday, Currams hasn't exactly set the world on fire since the start of the year so how on earth can anyone justify Currams to start ahead of Parlon. Also if this coming Sunday Offaly come up with another heroic performance and go toe to toe with Tipp only to go down by a point or two will we all be happy for the winter telling each other how great we were running Galway and Tipp so close and how next year we will be better? Absolute bullshit, the time for moral victories is over, if Offaly are good enough to get within a point or two of these teams then surely they are good enough to beat them, yes it's great to compete at the top again but after the 2 Galway battles now is surely the time to take it to another level, it's just a personal opinion but if its a case next Sunday that we are neck and neck with 10 mins to go then would it not be just as devastating to go down by a 2 or 3 points as to get whipped by 10, just a thought.
