You would have to fancy Clonbullogue against Clara (after their poor showing against Kilclonfert). Clonbullogue by a least a handfull of scores.theman wrote:Fixtures for 2nd round this weekend

On the basis of the Doon team against Rhode in the opener, and Durrow's convincing win over Birr, Durrow to take it by a couple, and if they get a run on Doon, it could be an easy win as Doon showed no spirit at all when Rhode got on top of them.
Kilclonfert v Shannonbridge should tell both where they are at this stage of the champ. I was surprised at how poor the 'bridge were against Rynaghs and even more surprised at the manner in which Kill beat Clara. I dont think the Bridge are as poor as what was seen against Rynaghs, and if they have any aspirations of returning to Intermediate ranks, let alone competing in Celebrity Banisteoir, they would want to win this easily enough and I think they will.
Rhode v Bracknagh--- The youthful, skillful Rhode team against the tough, experienced (gettin on a bit) side of Bracknagh may be a one sided affair. If Bracknagh can keep the Rhode forwardline starved of possession they have a chance. But Rhode should have too much firepower and even if Bracknagh can reduce Rhodes possession, I dont think they will score enough to win this one. Rhode easily.
Raheen and St Rynaghs - After a win each in the first round both will be looking to continue in the same vain. After Doon's dismal display against Rhode and Shannonbridge already beaten, both of these two would start to fancy their chances for the champ this year. A lot will depend on how much influence the Rafferty brothers have in the game, and if Raheen can keep them quite enough, a draw would be my bet!
Both Ballyfore and Birr need a win to kick start their year, and based on the last couple of years Birr should take their first 2 pts. Not sure if Sean Ryan was playing against Durrow, but still would back Birr -5
The fight is won or lost far away from the witnesses, behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road; long before I dance under those lights

Re: Intermediate Football Championship Round 2
Not a chance of Birr beating Ballyfore..Ballyfore have been under severe pressure during the league this year because they were missing up to 7 starting players in each of their games..The two Nutterfields are back this weekend after getting a disgracefull 48 week suspension from a useless referee who was trying to take the spotlight off himself..Kevin Coffey and Darren Nutterfield are both back from injury..James Coyne and Eoin Dunne have both re-joined the panel recently too. With talents such as David Brady,Niall Spain,Mark Duffy and Stuart Behan they will be capable of beating any team now..
