missed penaltys

Post by ballinamereman1 »

after seing another penalty (or indeed for that matter a 21) saved again today i feel it is right to adress this issue now.. why oh why is bergin and dooley constantly being aloud to hit these close in frees.. this year alone i have seen bergin and dooley miss a combined total of five.. should derek molloy not be given a try.. at club level he is constantly taking the shakles of the nets.. hes ball striking on the frees is incredible and his placement is second to none.. he must be given a chance on them.. we cant keep on missing these chances for easy goals.. we dont see the tipps or kks missing them thats for sure.. this issue has gone on for far to long offaly hurling needs a recognised penalty taker.. surely five mins at the end of trainer to practise penaltys isnt to much to ask and that is all it would take to find the best striker of a ball in the county..

joe bergin was unlucky today great save from the goalman, last week in galway his shot put out for a 65,
i still think bergin is the best man to take them. never seen molloy take one hear he is good at them
don't think he was on the field when we got the penalty today could be wrong on that.

yea your right esb lad.. molloy made a huge difference when introduced.. won the puck out in return setting up ger for the goal and then he won the penalty.. aswell as that he won the free at the end although dooley missed it it did eat up the clock and took the pressure away from mullins.. anyway back to the discussion in hand.. i think molloy should be given a blast at them.. anything withing 30 yards and molloy is dangerous.. an interesting one could be ger healion.. with the size hes got he could be worth a try.. id imagine he would generate great power into the shot if he conected right..
