men and should be brough in. last years game against kildare you could see that offaly were to small, the foward line were like a minor team. mullhall, reynolds, casey, sean ryan, deehan, good footballers they are to small to be all in the one team like last year niall mc would be the biggest of them all,( great footballer) but does not like it when it get tough
offaly need a few big men in the fowards they dont have to be great fowards just a bit of size and brawl about them.

I think the Gracefield chap you might be thinking of is Ruari Allen, he was nt a minor in 09 but was on the Offaly minor team that lost leinster final in 08 to Meath. He was involved in the offaly senior panal last year before Ritchies departure and by all accounts aquited himself fairly well. With regards Ger tracey a think he is more commited to the small ball game these, as for the clara men that you mentioned I think I am right in saying that Ross Brady is already in with the senior panal but unfortunately due to health reasons Guilfoyle has not be able to join up with the u21 panal , However, serious it is now i am not sure .
I used to think it was great being a wee nippy corner forward, but it's better now being a big, fat one.

A small team isn't a problem per se. You just have to play style that suits.leinsterman wrote: last years game against kildare you could see that offaly were to small, the foward line were like a minor team. mullhall, reynolds, casey, sean ryan, deehan, good footballers they are to small to be all in the one team like last year niall mc would be the biggest of them all,( great footballer) but does not like it when it get tough

Tyrone for the last decade were lacking in height, but they played a running and supporting style game that suited their players.
They wouldn't have prospered by pumping in Hail Mary balls at the likes of Peter Canavan.
As mentioned, against Kildare last year, on a narrow Portlaoise pitch, Offaly lorried in a lot of speculative ball down on small forwards. Against the creatine addled Kildare backs, who were several inches taller, this didn't yield much success.
To be fair against Wexford the next day, the tactics were much better. Two good fielding forwards (McNamee and Ward) were left in around the house and won a lot of these sort of deliveries.
