Am after reading a load of comments that a 10 point loss to Kilkenny etc etc would be a good result.
Are you kidding me? Is this how low things have gotten?
Anything other than a win on Sunday is a failure. In my opinion this Offaly team is beaten before they get out onto the field, a few players believe but thats about it.
How is it that David Franks can play in the Kilkenny championship against all these Kilkenny players and more than hold his own? These players arent unreal but what they are in superbly organised by Brian Cody and have the right mentality.
I went to watch Offaly train a few weeks ago and there was 17 at training and they played backs and forwards with Joe Dooley hitting in the balls, now if thats properly organised and trained well then i dont know what to say.
The players that are there now from minor to u-21 and now to senior have never been trained professionally and taken a correct approach to a championship match. Of course Joe Dooley is better than that joke John McIntyre but the players dont know any better. They have never ever been apart of something ran correctly.
This weekend Offaly should have the mentality that they can beat Kilkenny, Henry Shefflin only returning, Tommy Walsh and Eddie Brennan played recent club games and both were very poor, Noel Hickey looks doubtful to start, as does Richie Power and Derek Lyng. If there ever was a chance for a fully prepared, fully committed right mentality Offaly Team to beat Kilkenny this is it.
Its a real pity if you ask me.

Yeah and Birr can beat Ballyhale in the club championship.Offalys Future wrote: How is it that David Franks can play in the Kilkenny championship against all these Kilkenny players and more than hold his own? But realistically you have to walk before you can run.
Offaly seniors have been on their knees for almost a decade now against Kilkenny.
In only one of those games (last year) were we not beaten out the gate by half time.
You have to at the very least consolidate your position and improve on it. There aren't any quick shortcuts back to the top table.

Yes i agree and the way you do that is by starting to do things right.
Consistency and correctness in training at all levels is what is needed.
