Not what you are looking for in terms of details, but after hunting around the web I understand that the conditions were as bad as they get. Offaly played against the wind in the second half and managed just 1 point.

Conditions were beyond difficult,but the boys managed to display some of the heart that will be needed in the summer.First half was all Offaly,considering that we had the aid of a gale force wind,we were only 4 points up at the break.Antrim scored 1-4 by the break,agin the wind I might add.In the second half,with inclement weather becoming more of a factor Offaly capitulated.However,it must be said that hope remains,cos the bulk of that team are gonna be about for quite some time.
In the end,the best team won.Antrim were very well prepared,even though Offaly were the better hurlers.The skill is there,alls we need is some honest guidance,under the stewardiship of Joe Dooley.
Strike me down if I'm wrong,but I think that this team can push for a Leinster Final in the not too distant future.

Were the conditions far worse in the 2nd half, so that Offaly only got 0-1 into the wind, whereas Antrim got 1-4 into the wind in the 1st half?

BnM,the weather did deteriorate considerably in the 2nd half,with a deluge of hail stones at one stage.The wind was more or less as it was before half-time,but the precipitation did worsen,and it seemed to affect the Offaly lads' ability to hold onto,control and even rise the ball,whereas Antrim didn't appear to be affected in the same way.If the day was any way fine at all,I think that we could have snuck it,but that wasn't to be the case.
The goals that we conceded in the 2nd half were shambolic,and it wasn't until the second goal went in ,with about 10 minutes remaining that the game was conceded.
No real complaints about the result though.Antrim were thoroughly deserving winners.Some positives will be taken from yesterdays game,there's no doubt about that.Especially when the Birr contingent return [hopefully] after the 17th March,there could be real enthusiasm around the camp.
I know its early in the season,but I think an All-Ieland Q-F is a realistic and attainable target this year.

I certainly would not be hard on the lads after a very gutsy display in Casement. Yes the conditions in the second half especially just went from bad to worse, it was shocking to say the least and absolutly no way was it a day for a decent hurling game . The lads performed as best they could under the circumstances and not one player gave any less than 100 per cent, the conditions suited the more physically stronger Antrim side and the saffrons second and third goals were very softly conceded.
I know this is an old whinge of mine but I wish more people would make an effort to support our two senior teams, you could count on one hand the paltry Offaly support in Belfast last Sunday and its not as If there was a massive crowd in Tullamore watching the footballers. There is no doubt that the support during the league games during the early months of the year for our County teams are getting worse and worse, so called supporters who can't for one reason or the other make the O'Byrne and Walsh cups plus the league games all of a sudden are well able to make it for the championship games and turn up in their numbers, last June in Portlaoise was a perfect example. Sorry for droning on about this but it drives me up the wall and I just had to get it off my chest.
