Birr v Tullamore

Post by redser »

The footballers on the Tullamore team didnt look interested at all. Clearly minding themselves for the football. It was a pity because they were well capable of causing problems for Birr

In fairness, after the blues near misses against Skenagh and Drumcullen it was difficult to see them getting anything out of yesterday's game.

I see its going to be Brian Whelehans 20th senior semi final in a row-that has to be some sort of record. Should be a good game between Coolderry and Birr. Hard to look part the town side though especially the way Coolderry played against Shamrocks. I didnt get to go to the game, up the walls in college-was the paper right was claffey full back and cleary centre back? And Dylan Hayden didnt start?

T'is a modern day record anyway. From memory the only one who would come near would be Damien Martin who's first semi-final was in 1964 and who's last was in 1986. St. Rynagh's missed out on one semi final in that time, that being 1977 breaking the continuity.
