Football C'ship scoring diff!!!!!

Post by Muck Savage »

So now the championship looks to be a bit of a mess. The scoring difference really does count for a few of the spots if it's actually true that scoring counts. By my reckoning, ferbane are out, Tubber and Clara go through with Cloghan going into the drop zone playoff. Ferbane lose out on scoring difference.
Rhode and Gracefield are through, with the Bridge going into the relegation fight by one point score difference.
The last group sees Tullamore and Shamrocks through with St. Brigids going into the relegation fight again on scoring difference. Each group has had some decision based on scoring.

Now, for relegation, is it the same as last year where two go down? This was suppose to be the way for two years with Doon and E'derry loosing out last year. It would be a bit unfair if this got changed for whatever reason. Of the three teams in the relegation zone St.Bridigs look the weakest from the results so far. Cloghan and S'Bridge will be a good auld local game also.
Looks like Shamrocks and Rhode for the final if they stay on different sides of the draw. Tubber to get to a Semi if they don't come up against either Shamrocks or Rhode in the Q/F.

Scoring Difference

Post by Treasurer »

Scoring difference is definitely being used, as per new rule.

99% sure only one team being relegated.

Relegation

For definite, there's only one team going down this year. If I was a betting man it would have to be the Bridge unfortunately. the manager Noel O'Brien resigned after the draw on Saturday evening against Pullough. No manager, a complete lack of leadership on the sideline and at this stage a complete lack of interest will ultimately see them falter against Brigids & Rynaghs although I really hope I'm wrong!!

I'd still fancy them to pull through. A draw with Rovers is not that bad a result - I'd say if you offered it to Gracefield fans with a minute to go in that game they'd have gratefully accepted it.

That said there is a real lack of physical power in the team, and it's no good trying to address that with a couple of weeks to go. You certainly can't afford the likes of Jason Kelly to be so ineffective again.
