Re: U20 hurling 2026

Personally I think it does no good to either code to have duals. Your getting an average version of the potential player they could be. Trying to do both at underage for clubs is perfectly fine and I would say benefit s the player. At County level, it needs to be knocked on the head. It's quite ...

Re: U20 hurling 2026

To state again. You don't miss any club hurling or football if you are on a development squad. Only from minor up would you not be playing club.

Re: U20 hurling 2026

The biggest problem in Offaly at the moment, across both codes, is that too many players are being brought into development squads.

There are far too many young lads not actually playing games because all they are doing is training. Once upon a time, it was the very best players who were called ...

Re: U20 hurling 2026

I think mgt just hanging around waiting to see what JK does.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Johnny P left, Hughie Hannon left and is with Kilcormac and Tony Gleeson is with Kilcormac/Offaly seniors?

That doesn’t leave too many of the management who are waiting around except one man…

Hughie ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026

More often than not the B team will beat the A team. Heard it multiple times. "A" players know that they are starting bar maybe 1 or 2 and b players desperate to impress.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

Reading reports galway could have scored 5-30. 4 points down with 10 to go was very good going all considered. Reality is Galway know they are going to a leinster final. They ll beat wexford and kildare handy. They are already planning for the all ireland series knockouts.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

In fairness, most teams do match ups ahead of positions. Way game as gone. The big test is vs wexford and then kildare. As it always was going to be. Dublin bet kildare handy enough. Kilkenny will best offaly by a similar scoreline as Galway. They fairly whipped wexford. Beat wexford and the last ...

Re: U20 hurling

I was in at the game tonight. Body language of both players and mgt was that of expecting to be well bet and that's what transpired. Dublin way better in all aspects of the game for skill to conditioning. There was very little to take from tonight from an offaly perspective.
Not sure whose up next ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

Very good at working the ball out? Dublin , against good opposition are not good at working the ball out. In a podcast there during the week pat ryan said just let Dublin have the ball and they'll give it away as they try to work it out. They are a step ahead of offaly, not world beater but better ...

Re: Offaly Minor Hurling 2026

There are ways to lose. Vs laois was an epic disaster. When your face superior opposition you don't go out man to man. You make some effort at setting up your team to win or at least compete.
