Re: Minor Football 2026
On this topic, the conversation here has caught the attention of some people involved, so over the course of a phone call I got a few things clarified with regard to the structure of this Academy Review Committee. (The phone call was not with Declan Kelly, lest anyone thinks I'm just being fed ...

Re: Minor Football 2026
As per above and previous page, Jimmy Stewart is no longer involved with U16 football management. Him and his management group were sacked last week by the Development Squad Committee and replaced.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Oisin Kelly came in against Wexford and looked bit off the pace I thought. No doubting ability when fully fit but you can't be any way off at this level to not look out of place. Cleary has lots to work with but is he quick enough on ground at this level? I don't know.

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
This is a very basic point. Our current management cast off all our older more experienced players with anyone age 29 or older removed for young lads that had won an U20. Those young lads were totally unproven at adult club level, let alone inter county, and many that were tried have struggled to ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Why would you fear a div 3 team. Not saying at all that it's a gimme. It's a 50 50 game. We are at home coming off two wins. We should be looking forward to it. And if we can't beat Wexford at home, then we've no business going any further in this competition. Simple as that.

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Lads do ye follow football outside of offaly games? It absolutely was the worst possible draw
We had three options
Wexford Sligo Wicklow
Wexford are absolutely the worst outcome here if you dont understand that i’d find it hard to take anythinh you say about football seriously
They are an ...

Re: Minor Football 2026
Apparently some of the parents of players are very unhappy with this development too. Lads were getting on well with the group by all accounts. I am told there is a controlling committee that controls what players are part of and not part of development squads, led by one DK as Underage Academy ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
It's a home draw against Wexford. Thats not a bad draw. What are lads complaining about. They an ok team but are no world beaters. We were able to beat Down and Clare and that would justify us to be favourites.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
It will either be a double header in Croke Park with Clare V Dublin, or both will be stand alone fixtures on Saturday and Sunday in Thurles.
A double header in Thurles would not carry the crowd i'd imagine. Cork would bring 18000 - 20,000. Offaly will bring 10,000 i'd expect. That wouldn't leave ...

Who was the U16 management and did something happen for them to be removed? Sounds a bit off unless previously agreed as you say.....

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
To best of my knowledge, it wasn't lack of game time in Ruairi McNamee leaving. He got good bit of game time under DK regime years - maybe not as much as he would have liked but he got game time. The bigger picture is why are lads who were involved in 2024 year not making themselves available in ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
I am not overly sure of how to explain this very simple concept in a way that it has not been explained to you already Snotser.

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
With reference to Saturday, lots has been made of that u20 group and all they've done etc and senior team built around them etc etc etc. However, This is a real nod of acclaim and well done to the more senior lads who actually carried us the last day and some of whom, have been doing this for a ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Lets be balanced here.
In his first year in charge, but also as joint manager with Mickey Harte, Declan Kelly took a hardline approach to who he wanted and didn't want on the panel. As manager/co-manager, that is his right, it's not reasonable to give someone a job and then dictate how they do ...
