Re: Club Managers 2024

Is that George Digan Ferbane that you mention? Is that confirmed? is that Brady confirmed? Not heard either of them confirmed. Any word on Durrow or Ballycommon or Clonbullogue. Take it that John Rouse is staying with Clara?

Re: Club football 2025

To be fair, I am not sure you can equate one with the other. Context also applies. Football people were raving about how much better the team were attacking this year as opposed to previous years - and were affording that to Rochford rightly or wrongly under a more attacking style. The rules have ...

Re: Club football 2025

Surely that’s the end of Stephen Rochford what a waste of money if rumours are true what he was on. Surely that could be better spent elsewhere. An all Tullamore management team had them 3 points off Cuala. There’s no need for these star coaches at club level you can only do so much with the ...

Re: Club Managers 2024

I believe Nigel Dunne is set tobecome the new Shamrocks manager. Very 50/50 on how that'll go. But a very strong team in Shamrocks at the minute.

Any word on potential Ballycommon, Ferbane & Edenderry replacements?

Re: Club Managers 2024

Didnt hear anything on management front but couple of senior clubs looking for managers apparently after a few stepped away. Lots of good players from Durrow have stopped playing or disappeared from football over the years. Seems there has been changes at committee level there for first time in long ...

Re: Offaly football minor trials

The trials are mainly between already existing squad members over two age grouos and maybe a few who showed well in the club championship. I be very slow to comment on individuals or who should be where or doing what. 2026 will be difficult with 2027 being better. Few duals who won't be able to do ...

Re: Offaly football minor trials

I agree, need to be careful about what is said around this. They are only kids. By all accounts there is a very strong U16 group next year. Normally you'd have about 10/30 from the younger cohort and 20/30 from final year minors. There shouldnt be a huge amount of trialing going on if the ...

Re: Club Managers 2024

Perhaps that was more to do with fact it was shot in Tullamore and the two lads living locally were asked. As it is possible that two local footballers were asked to join them....

Re: Club Managers 2024

This is a thread about club managers and Ballinamere got a new one so obviously it’s going to be mentioned here. Not sure why it has angered some here but if ye want a thread to give out about Ballinamere make one and
do it there. I too am fed up of the talk about how great or how not great they ...

Re: Club Managers 2024

Interesting appointment for them but they have a big gap to make up in my opinion after this year to contend next year. They have a bit of talent but have they the steel needed to win a senior championship? Not from what I have seen to date anyway and this new management wont see too many of them ...

Re: Club football 2025

Well of that Top 16, Cathal Flynn and Aaron Kellaghan are still there. Surely a place there for a few more.

Stated above by poster that Flynn will not be involved for some reason. I have not heard myself but did hear both Kellaghan and Ruairi McNamee will not be involved - again no specific ...

Re: Club football 2025

Good bit of work gone in to that. Fair play. Going by this, if Johnson, Farrell and Plunkett are left out, it may be case that none of the top 16 scorers will be on senior panel in 2026, which would be astounding. We do have a few at senior B and Intermediate level that start regularly in Dylan ...

Re: Club football 2025

Ah Jaysus Jimbob, Dooley can hardly claim a legitimate medal for this can he?
He didn't play a single minute all year for the seniors and I don't believe he was even named on a team sheet for them until the final today.
Rocking up today is hardly enough to earn a medal or am I being too ...

Re: Club football 2025

IBit of a nod to a young Shane Dooley too who picked up yet another county medal - must be up to 8 or 9 senior medals now between hurling and football.

Re: Club football 2025

In recent years, Offaly club football has been spoken about as being below the level of neighbouring counties, largely due to number of genuine contenders and Tullamore's recent dominance. Hopefully after today, people talk differently about it. Today's final was as good a final as I have seen in a ...
