Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
The current mood is not a reflection of the Tailteann Cup, it's a reflection of the fact that players are human, and when you're not getting paid for something, it can be hard to muster up the enthusiasm out of sheer discipline. They'll keep showing up for training, they'll keep doing the right ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Throughout most of his success, Mickey Harte has had Gavin Devlin at his side. Not just because of what's going on in Louth at the moment, Gavin Devlin's stock is rising hard right now.

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Niall Stack played a system that suited Tullamore, a side that was packed full of intercounty stars in four of the five outfield lines, but who was perceived to have a much more moderate inside forward line.

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
To be fair to DK, he's won an All-Ireland as an underage manager, and the issues we've seen with personality clashes at adult level are not nearly as much of a concern when you're working with 16 year olds. Of course there'll be a debate about whether or not he'd be the right man for a role like ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Very poor offaly support at it today, was just on a social media site there is an awful lot of hatred towards the management on it. A little bit harsh.
I don't think there could be any emotion even remotely close to "hatred" from any rational supporter, Mickey Harte hasn't worked out as we ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
That was pretty dismal, and I take no joy in saying that. Conor Melia is the only reason that wasn't a humiliating score line, as opposed to just a gruelling 70 minutes for those of us who were here.

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
I'm not saying I wouldn't start Plunkett myself, but if you've Dylan Hyland on the field and fit, I'm not as concerned as I would have been about long range frees before he came back.

Re: U20 hurling
The day Offaly hurling teams at any level start to feel entitled to beat anyone, be it Meath, Kildare, Westmeath or whoever, is a day we've taken a massive backwards step. We know more than anyone how hard it is to make breakthroughs, but also how driven teams and counties can be to take that one ...

Re: U20 Footballers
All of what POTH said there is spot on, but just to add to that - a huge number of the players from last year's final weren't eligible for selection. Ryan and Ross Kellaghan, Ben Kennedy, Cameron Egan, Ronan Flynn, Conor Grennan, they're all some of the best players from that final and they're all ...

Re: U20 Footballers
There's no doubt he'll be called into the panel next year. He's not eligible in 2026, you're not allowed play adult intercounty in your first year out of minor.greenairfield wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2026 2:44 pm Would the goalie be good enough as senior goalie for goal kicking alone ?

Re: U20 Footballers
management were slow to make changes which were needed playing against a strong wind in the first half, got back to 2 points early in second half due mainly to Ryan's frees. Offaly looked like a team that had not played together and this match will bring them forward and they should beat Wicklow ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
If you think a different management set up would not have started the same forwards that current management did last season I'm not sure what to say.....Tierney, o neill , burke, Bryant, Flynn and hyland were all on fire last year stop rewriting history .....Higgins also came into the wing ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
I have to say that when it comes to the issue of the management/injuries/players not considered for selection or not willing to be considered, we've fairly covered a lot of ground here at this stage. There are opinions on both sides of the fence that I think it's fair to say aren't going to change ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
I’m just glad to see the back of the leauge. Hopefully Dunican is back for Laois game he’s the most important absentee to that team at the moment.
I'm not saying any of this with certainty, but my understanding is that we're looking at a possible return for John Furlong for the start of the ...
