Woe to he that would doubt the Lone Shark. Another coup for punters' friend. Bravo, maestro, bravo!

It is a sad thing indeed to see a brain as sharp and analytical as the Lone Shark's blunted by the smoke and mirrors of Dublin's defeat of Laois. I can understand how an innocent could be fooled, reading in his or her "paper of record" that "the All-Ireland football championship is ready to move ...

Kildare
Looks like Kildare have ruffled a lot of feathers with that objection:

As good as they've seen Mayo play Lone Shark? Sounds like a terrible case of believing the hype I'm afraid. What about the games against Galway and Tyrone in the 2004 Championship? Selective memories there I'm afraid.

It's interesting that the Lone Shark should extend the digit of suspicion towards the Galway footballers. I don't remember either event of which he speaks, but I do remember RTÉ had to stop their wheeze of viewers voting for the live game Man of the Match award about three years ago. Padraig Joyce ...

I remember Pat Fleury coming home to Tullamore after Offaly were whipped in the Centenary Hurling Final against Cork in Thurles. "We let you down," the captain told the huge following who had turned up to welcome home their heroes, regardless of the result. "No, you didn't," they answered.

Where Will the Mayo-Offaly Minor Game be Played?
Any idea about a venue or date about this one? Would it be before one of the Senior semi-finals, or would we get the road to Mullingar or the Hyde to make way for our Sky and Navy Blue heroes, those well know saviours of Gaelic Games, Dubbalin?
The Hyde wouldn't be too bad, now that I think of it ...

Don't Know What You Got 'Til It's Gone
On this sad Monday morning for Offaly hurling, I thought you Offaly fans might draw some small comfort from this excellent piece from yesterday's Sunday Times. Denis Walsh writes a eulogy for Offaly hurling in the 1980s and 90s, and made the point that Offaly hurling was never appreciated for what ...

I'm not a Faithful man myself, just visiting for the game, but I was wondering why you didn't start Roy Malone.
I know that 1997 is a long time ago now but I was just behind the Offaly bench and Malone was bulling for action. He didn't do too badly when he came on, either. Is he out of favour, or ...
