I have had a quick look at the scheduled fixtures for the coming months and it is very difficult to see how the county board are going to fit in championship matches at any grade.
I am fairly sure that the football and hurling are now divided into groups of 6 (certainly at senior and possibly ...

Re: All-Ireland Senior Football Final
The football final was a serious let down all right, I got the impression that Cork never believed they could win and were nearly waiting for Kerry to put them out of their misery so they could tip back down to the Lee and bemoan the qualifier system and agree that everyone hates Cork and that they ...

Re: All Ireland Final - Call it
Great match - the best of the year by a long shot. Tipp were desperately unlucky to come away as losers and the penalty will be talked about - for me it was never a penalty, the first foul was nearer the 21 and if anything, the ball was then over carried (as an aside - how many times did lads go ...

Re: All Ireland Final - Call it
Can't see it. Kilkenny may well be past their best but i don't think that they'll be caught this year. They still have too much in the tank - if Henry Shefflin plays half as well as he did in the semi-final then it's all over. Tipp are a young team with good forwards but this year might be too soon ...

Re: Changes to playing rules
Just to clarify the 'better refereeing' issue.
The job undertaken by the referee is, in most cases, doomed to failure as he/she will never be able to please everybody. My issue is not with the referee's that are out there trying their best, but with the lack of real support that they recieve from ...

Re: Changes to playing rules
1. I agree with BB on this one, practically impossible to make a change that would have a positive impact.
2. The Charging issue is one for debate. It has become a major problem in both Hurling and Football, looking at some of the Northern football teams in particular the tactic has been to go ...

Re: Football Draw
As far as I know the lads are over there on sixty day sanctions, so chances are we won't be seeing them again. Certainly based on form Shannonbridge are the obvious candidates, however they are a stubborn breed over there and they'll have known deep down that this was likely all year - I'm guessing ...
