Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

I would be encouraged by our performances so far, we have been without 5 or more players for every game so far, blooded a lot of players and been in the hunt for 45-50 mins of each game.

I don’t understand how much better could be expected, if we can compete in the last few matches particularly the ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

I dont condone the actions, but i do think using that as fuel on the field is the answer, i personally had lots of things said to me on the field of play, honestly they didnt bother me in the slightest & in general i took it as a great compliment to my abilities...as small as they were!

The ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

What county player would take offense at whats said to them on the field of play?

If our county players are that mentally weak we are going nowhere, they will get that in a lot of matches be they club or county and would have had it since about 15 id imagine. I would be shocked if there was an ...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025

Cillian Kiely playing centre back for offaly is a pipe dream. Simply doesnt have the mobility for intercounty and this has been shown time and time again. A great club player on his day but will be a club player only

Re: Offaly U20 Hurlers 2025

All over. A deserved win for Dublin against an Offaly team that lacked energy, urgency and fluency. A performance following on from the group stages.
The year never really got going for this team for a variety of reasons and now, just like that, its all over. Sport waits for no one.

Thanks to ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025

Men Vs. Boys

We put ourselves to the sword last night, a night where we needed everything to go right for us to have any chance.

Troy will not look back on this game fondly, pretty much at fault for 2-1 although he had 2 great saves outside of his penalty save to keep us in it also. Although ...

Re: Club Hurling championship

Curious from a participation point of view how amalgamation impacts overall playing numbers. I get that it will Improve the quality of the first team, and give more chance of winning. As the years roll on, I wonder how a lad that might be a starter on the football team with Raheen and would have ...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup

I havent posted in a while but I have to post in response to this.

Kevin Martin had to go, it was obvious from the league campaign which was disasterous but such is the disinterest it dragged on until we are mired in our current predicament.

A few points to make on his tenure:

I dont want this to ...

Re: Offaly vs Tipperary - 2014 All-Ireland SHC qualifier Rou

Lads this is so disheartening tipp are walking through for goals. It's the same old same old

The forwards run around, tackle poorly to give away a free or let the man break the tackle, our backs try hard but hit the ball anywhere.

And most of all my biggest bugbear we are terrible at set pieces ...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?

It's amazing how quickly we have descended from talking about Offalys future and how to fix it to petty club rivalry.

To address some points, So Birr won Offaly 2 county all Ireland's in the ninetys??? No other Offaly club had hand act or part in it....really??!! In fairness Birrman that is b ...

Re: All-Ireland Hurling Qualifiers Round 1 Antrim v Offaly

Sounds like Offaly missed 6 or 7 easy goal chances on the radio so they won it the hard way but at least a bit of pride is restored after midweek

Re: County Board

A professional well ran setup will be bought into by the players, but if you have lads not being looked after properly then they will not aspire to perform as well as they can.

What does an Offaly county hurler / footballer get for their 8-9 months training (many driving long distances)???

As far ...

Re: County Board

I do not agree that his points are irrelevant to last night. Last night is the result of his points.

If the county board are putting on training courses and people aren't attending it's a shocking indictment. I have never once heard of these courses and as a player I would love to attend with a ...
