Whilst I would agree that there is great work going on in Ferbane, the fact is that Shannonbridge have had a fair few players on these teams, which will dilute the pipeline into adult teams.
I also must say that its a farce of a situation to see Ferbane relegated from Junior A and have a team good ...

Re: Dooley set to continue
Sean, if you have noting to say then say......!
Offaly have made great strides? How? We could/should have been relegated and beaten by Antrim. Not Joe Dooley's fault?
We should have hammered Limerick and not end up hanging on for dear life? Not Joe Dooleys fault.
We were pathetic against Tipp.

Re: Junior B Football
I think the whole thing leaves a very sour taste in terms of GAA management of the situation. If a team pulls out like Kinnitty did, then the team they have beaten should be reinstated. I think it really demeans football, and was sickened to hear some of the comments around me from Kinnitty ...

Re: County senior football championship
I apologise to PJ Ward for questioning whether he would play or not(sure it wont worry him!). Rhode were too strong again, Shamrocks need players back like Coughlans and Delaney, and Molloy at full tilt.
Should be a tough tight final!

Re: Senior Hurling semi finals - 03/10/2010
I felt before the game that Tullamore would tie up the KK forwards and that was just about the case. Two great goal chances in the first half from Fletcher and Healion were crucial as Tullamore would not have the scoring power to come back from a 6/7 point deficit.
KK gave away some poor frees and ...

Re: No more U12 Championship
I agree with everything Lone Shark says on this topic. As an U8 to U12 coach, your job is to bring through as many kids who have learned the basic skills and enjoy trying to play Gaelic football. You can already have earmarked those who you feel will be successful at U14 etc, but the strange thing ...

Re: Hurling semi finals
I cant see KK beating Tullamore, Currams and Healion will need to play a lot better than they did against Clareen. However just saw forecast and tis very poor for the w/end with rain give for both Sat and Sunday. In that case I would expect the Blues to triumph, because they appear to be very strong ...

Jayz lads, I aint his biggest fan and he has had a great impact at club level with SHamrocks, but ultimately he will let you down. Just shows the optimism he had for the championship, I only played junior but put me foot down with the "wife to be" and we got married on a date in March. (That was 8 ...

"Good to see Gracefield stay up senior, offaly football need Gracefield to be strong again they always gave good players to winning offaly teams".
How many times have I heard this about Gracefield? The truth is they are a symptom of the problem in Offaly, they have a good spread of talent but from ...

Re: Latter Stages of Junior A
I wonder why Geashill gets so many games as it is a poor pitch? But because of the amount of games now played in OCP with the unavailability of Birr, County board are under pressure, and many of the pitches in the clubs around Tullamore are poor. Gracefield should get the final as has a good stand ...

Paul Watts, why could he be playin his last game for the Shamrocks?
Rhode will psyche out Ward alright and expect a bit of a scuffle or two!

"A big part of the problem is the absence of too many lads in their late twenties leading the drive"

Not alone with regard to Doon, but would be the case in many clubs around the county.

Re: County senior hurling championship
Fair point by Lone Shark. I understand Birr have lost talented players, but on paper that Birr team still looks quite strong.
What I was disappointed with was their level of ability. Birr have dropped back as opposed to others moving up to that level.
Can understand how people thought it was good ...

Re: Junior B Football
Well at least Coolderry withdrew before a ball was kicked! Therefore not knocking out teams who had a genuine interest.
It would be highly unfair on Daingean who lost a q/final to Kinnitty and then watch as Kinnitty, (Perhaps!!!) put out a much weaker team in the semi???
Let them play and if they ...
