Hoare had an outstanding game.
He was landing a lot of puckouts yesterday in the second half in the perfect area for the forwards to break onto. Knocked over a couple of long range frees with ease, and did the bread and butter stuff of goalkeeping perfectly.
He has a huge presence too standing ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Screeny flourishing on the wing with the extra space. Might be worth looking at, but maybe it's a luxury UL can have being the dominant team.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
Recent decisions on red cards and subsequent appeals has shown the GAA are happy for players to dive and feign injury.
Our players need to take note of this and hit the deck at every opportunity now. No reward for being honest, every incentive for being deceitful.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
I'd expect Dublin to win next weekend v Carlow as they still have a slim chance mathematically of finishing 2nd.
It would require Offaly beating Waterford who would then finish with 8 points.
Should Dublin win there last 2 games they would also reach 8 points, and if Carlow won their last two games ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
I just think its very odd, that Carlow who beat Waterford(a bigger scalp than Dublin if I'm honest), are not being spoken about, and are coming in completely under the radar, despite being unbeaten in 2 tough matches.
I worry that Waterford will beat Dublin, and then Dublin have nothing left to ...

Re: The Throwing problem in hurling
Its a blight on the game, and I don't agree either with POTH about the double movement.
We don't need new rules, just enforcement.
Sometimes you see a "handpass" that defies the laws of physics and still.the referee ignores it.
It would take no more thsn two rounds of the NHL and proper ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
Conditions not easy for hurling today yet a decent game was played out.
We had a few good chances to get the extra point needed and unfortunately let them slip.
I do feel a few times we pushed too hard for a goal when a point could have been taken and that's probably what cost us in the end.

Re: General Election 2024 - Offaly Constituency
If the big two are on the lookout for a handful of independent TDs to form a government will Nolan put up her hand?

They have reached their target for the year. Its a long tine since they returned to training in November, so if they wanted a few days off fair play to them. They all have lives outside of the GAA. Have you had any holidays since the end of October? Next week the club managers will start ...

See a number of players have gone on holidays before the cork match. Pity they couldn't have waited until after.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
On the crowd yesterday, very quiet Offaly support yesterday. Laois supporters particularly the younger ones were far more vocal, and not always in a good way. Hopefully people will get behind this Senior team in numbers in the coming years.
I can't understand why so many sat in the corners ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Like Doon exile there I bought mine last week when logged in for the u20s match. Was able to get 307 in the Cusack with juveniles included.
On the match itself we have nothing to fear from what I saw the first day out, not that it's a foregone conclusion. The goals obviously had a major bearing on ...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
There be a lot more than 5k from Tipperary in attendance.
I'd be in agreement with you.
This is their last big hurling day of the year. A bank holiday Saturday evening and just a stones throw away for many, there will be plenty from Tipp there. The chance to walk out of Kilkenny of all places ...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Clubs on Tipp getting an allocation, yet no word of clubs in Offaly.
As far as I know this internet thing has reached Tipperary too, so why the neef for Tipp clubs to get tickets and yet none here.
GUBU springs to mind. Was there ever an All Ireland before where the clubs of one county got tickets ...
