Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

Does anyone know if Jordan Quinn was asked onto the panel this year?
And no I'm not looking to start a 10 page discussion about alternative teams like the football thread

Just a question if anyone knows.

Re: Club football 2025

Speaking of poaching lads.......has Sean Hurley (currently the best mid fielder in the county in my opinion)been approached to join the county panel for 2026?
Madness if he hasn't.

Re: Club football 2025

IBit of a nod to a young Shane Dooley too who picked up yet another county medal - must be up to 8 or 9 senior medals now between hurling and football.

Ah Jaysus Jimbob, Dooley can hardly claim a legitimate medal for this can he?
He didn't play a single minute all year for the seniors and I ...

How would that work in reality? Durrow are the football team, Ballinamere are the hurling team.
Rigney would be over the Durrow footballers as well I assume Searing

Re: Club football 2025

Lusmagh gave a walkover in the Junior C Football quarter final tonight against Raheen which is disappointing.
There are so few tournaments available to win each year it's a shame when walkovers are given like this.
In their defence I think they just about managed to get 13 bodies on the pitch during ...

Re: All Ireland Football semi finals, and Final.

Hard to look past Donegal.
Tyrone look a bit better balanced than Kerry for me.
Kildare to get the job done in the Tailteann with Limerick likely to be very stubborn opponents.
Going to be frierce hot at the weekend too, be interesting to see might some teams fare better in it.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024

Jaysus , its hard to fathom the rules anymore. Sounds like cribbing when you say it, but as Donal Og rightly said the other evening, where in the rulebook does 90% of the tackles carried out in Limerick sit?

Is this the same Mr.Cusack who is constantly calling for referees to ignore the fact ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025

Kildare were probably the most convincing winners of the Joe McDonagh in its 8 year existence (Laois were convincing in 2019 as well but not as convincing as Kildare were this year). They ran out easy winners against Laois in both the final and the group stage and saw off the relegated Liam ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025

If Dublin beat Carlow and Waterfront beat Westmeath this coming weekend I think that confirms a Offaly v Waterford final.
Is there an argument then to be made for the final group game between between the 2 to double up as the 1b final?
Perhaps the county board could at least ask? I suspect it wouldn ...

Re: The Throwing problem in hurling

The ball doesn’t have to be released six inches before being palmed in order for it to be a valid handpass. Now many might only be released a fraction, but in general there is a double movement, just not visible to Joe Armchair watching on TV. And if Joe Armchair cared to slow it down he would ...
