Many are strong GAA people and coaches seem to be walking away too, as are GAA development staff, which appears to be a HR issue at this stage, such is the level of walkouts. If Offaly GAA was a business, and there was an audit by HR company on results, underage performance levels, talent ...

It appears Tar Man that you either clearly have a vested interest in winning this argument, are thinking on a much higher level than I, or you are unable to see or engage with a legitimate point of argument.

I do have a vested interest - I'm both a parent and involved in my own club. I have ...

For me, 'working with other sports' is quite simple.

A. Firstly do not scratch them off the list forever if they fail to attend the first trial at U14.
B. Schedule development squad sessions at times where they don't clash with elite level soccer or rugby where possible, particularly at ...

I have seen the email regarding the U13s which was sent on to me from a relative and it states what I said. I don’t know what more you want or why is that a contentious point?

This is not the truth - No email was sent out - Parents registered on a WhatsApp Group and we received the details ...

The U11-U13 sessions are open to all players at each age group. The sessions are a basic introduction to how life will be as a Development Squad Member - basically like a secondary school open night. The Kids are split up into groups and do drills with coaches for a no of minutes before moving to ...

Same as the u14 final two years ago.
Kieth o rourke the big name on show im guessing looks to be a real talent.

Who won that U14 final?

It was U13 (3 years ago) before it was changed to even year groups and Shamrocks beat Tullamore in the final by a point. They beat Ballinamere in the Semi ...

A player from Offaly recently participated in the New York Championship for winners Sligo.

If his team is still involved in the Offaly championship is this player then allowed to ‘rejoin’ the home club and participate in the Offaly championship also?

Congrats to the player and Sligo NY btw ...

Passage from Offaly Express article with Tullamore Senior B player Kevin O'Brien, who also does S&C with the Senior As:

He pointed out that Tullamore isn't as big a club as some outsiders think and have a “quite small playing community”.

Their junior A and B teams train together as separate ...

There is no counter argument tho in my opinion . And everybody is entitled to one
Cormac Egan Jack Bryant John furlong Lee Pearson Cathal flynn etc etc played other sports till they were 14/15 and some others later and they are our best players so like a bit common sense is needed here and let ...

The development squad set up has been a failure the last few years the results are enough evidence . Our best players aren’t been encouraged in fact some of them are been turned off Gaa.
A Tullamore player scored 6.7 last night in an u 14 A semi final. But he’s not involved in development squad ...

Hi offalyclubmap,

Great work completed here. I'm just wondering who this work is being completed for - are you affiliated with the County Board? I was present at the presentation by Croke Park officials on the impending Demographics issue that is going to affect the country and especially smaller ...

I would argue jealously has slipped into the minds of people since Dunne has rightly been added to offaly role and its quite amusing to see people who feel their pals should be in jobs talk sh1te

Hitting the nail on the head here - where was all this hate before Nigel was picked as a selector ...

It is sad to see what's happening in Edenderry at the moment - god knows that some stage over the past few years our own clubs have experienced something similar - I remember calling lads on a Sunday morning trying to make up a Junior Hurling Team after we'd been knocked out so that we'd just fulfil ...

Does anyone know if there is relegation in this years senior football. Initially I thought the plan was no relegation and have 6 teams in the weaker group. Report from the durrow vs clonbullogue inclines there will be a relegation match.

Hard to see Durrow putting out much of a team vs Clara ...

Is there any information available about the selection committee for the managers job or how it is going to be decided?

It’s really hard to see an obvious solution. Any club manager from Offaly probably has to beat Tullamore before being considered up to it and anyone from tullamore probably has ...
