Re: Club football 2025

Down the line, amalgamations like we see at underage will have to be considered. All the population is shifting to the urban centres.

Also the setting up of new clubs will have to be considered. Ireland is changing drastically - Rural Ireland is being decimated - think about it for a second ...

Re: Offaly minor football panel 2025

I was at a good few of the Offaly games and watched a lot of other games on-line and the best player in the Championship in my opinion was the Louth Midfielder Tom Maguire - how he didn't make this team beggars belief

Re: Club football 2025

This appointment can be looked at 2 ways from an Offaly point of view:

- Rochford comes in and adds considerably to the team. They win Offaly (which they were overwhelming favourites for before the appointment) and go on to win Leinster (which they weren't a million miles away from last year). The ...

Re: Club football 2025

The issue is the deal that was signed in the first place - it was a crazy deal from an Offaly County Board point of view. If they wanted O'Connor Park they should have purchased it outright and then developed it. The deal that was done was crazy - pay high rent for a piece of ground - spend millions ...

Re: Offaly Minor Football 2024

The numbers re Tullamore are completely false . They have never had 120 at u8 . That’s a fact I know what I’m talking about max was 70 which was 6/7 yrs ago

So you're telling me that at any year there are less than 70 boys in the Tullamore Catchment Area? My figures have come directly from an ...

Re: Offaly Minor Football 2024

I have to say that I agree with JimBob to a point with regards to the amalgamations - a lot of the bigger clubs within these amalgamations are abdicating responsibility by leaving the development of the youngsters to the amalgamations rather than doing the work themselves. IMO it should be a rule ...

Re: Club Football

Referee was shocking. Also one of the Tullamore first half points was over the post - I was directly behind it. Umpire went for the flag way too soon and it drifted at the last second. And as for the Lineman flagging that the ball was out during the second half - come on!! Amateurish all round. The ...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024

I went onto TM yesterday hoping to get Stand Tickets as I've young children who will struggle to see from the Terrace. I refreshed the tickets over and over again until it eventually kicked me out. I had the wife on as well and we had to take the Terrace tickets. I know of only one person who got ...

Re: Changing of Underage grades and Separation from adult

When this motion came to our Minor Club we voted overwhelmingly to change. The main reason was that we have seen countless young lads leave Minor at 17 and disappear completely without making any attempt to play for the Senior Club. The Year makes a big difference in terms of physical development ...

I wonder if he has been approached by Kilkenny to be part of the team to replace Cody - strange that he left it this late and the fact he was at the matches on Saturday

Clifford is gifted for Kerry and he got free on Sat to level it (I think O'Se was wallopped earlier in match or something...sometimes you need to keep the gifted players ticking over...just an idea....

Sean O'Shea was sent off (Yellow & Black Card) just before Clifford got the free to level it.

Re: Election 2020 laois offaly

Listening to Ivan Yates yesterday evening he thinks - Cowen (FF), Fleming (FF), Flanagan (FG) & Stanley (SF) with the last seat coming down to a bit of a dog fight. He reckons that Ormond (FF) will take it. I wouldn't rule out John Leahy (IND) though. Carol Nolan has lost a portion of her votes with ...

yeah he took a right wallop that day, hard to believe that is still an issue affecting him...Its these games I thought we would really need him most, what ever about the so called perceived weaker teams in the division..

Makes it all the more shocking that Rhode brought him on in the County ...
