Re: Leinster U21 Hurling Semi-Final Kilkenny 0-18 Offaly 0-15

For me Bord na Mona Man Conor Mahon should certainly be given a go at centre forward for the seniors as Plain of the herbs said in his report his movement there from centre field on wed evening had a huge impact in getting Offaly into the game, his ability to field ball at run at defenders would be ...

Apologies 'Plain of the herbs' for mixing you up with 'Greatdayfortheparish' may pay a visit to specasvers!

Id be in agreement as regards the team announcements, as with us ya generally know the first 15, however where they line out or indeed finish isnt always as predictable.

The team generally is listed on the Offaly G.A.A website on the Thursday night or the Friday before the mathces on Sunday. Granted there wasn't a team listed before ...

Re: Wexford v Offaly, NHL, 5/4/09

We set off to wexford not really knowing what to expect, we had nothing to go on, a few meaningless matches against the likes of Kerry & Carlow provided nothing more than filling a few hours on a Sunday afternoon, this was it, eventually we were going to find out where we stand in the grand scheme ...

Re: The Betting Thread

LS, Down +11 wouldnt be a bad bet but i wouldnt be lumping on it, the wind had a big part to play last week, it kept them going in the first half as they were toe to toe with us, but their heads dropped and became indiscplined and the same effort wasnt there when we tipped ahead, Offaly's winning ...

Re: The Betting Thread

The 13/10 about Derry to beat Tyrone in Omagh is a tempter too.. Tyrone havent really got going this year, will be a different proposition as the year progresses of course but at the minute they are struggling.

They only managed one point in the second half against Donegal last week and are ...

Re: Offaly V Down Hurling

Well, black and red exile, it was a sparse enough attendance to be fair in Ballycran! Id say there was no more than 60 people at the match in total (excluding team mentors officials etc). If there was ten from Offaly it would be the height of it, i counted 8!
In fairness it is an unreal journey and ...

Offaly V Down Hurling

Offaly 2-21 Down 14pts, Ballycran

Another double figure victory for our hurlers in Div2 yesterday in the picturesque shores of Stranghford lough. The first half of this encounter was by no means comfortable with both sides going in level at ten points apiece. Down played with the benefit of a strong ...

Re: welsh cup vs UCD

this is the same referees assessor joe bloggs who asked at one stage in the 1st half 'did dublin have a lad sent off?' - this was asked about 5 minutes after dublin had brought one of their lads from the full forward line out around the middle of the field!!

Re: welsh cup vs UCD

Have to agree with joe bloggs here i thought shane dooley's second goal was absolute class and worth the 10 bob entrance fee! He wasnt having the best of games up to that much like the rest of the six forwards who just seemed to snatch at chances in the 1st half but looked alot more composed in the ...

Re: The season begins

just agreeing with the posts above wouldnt have any problem with the lads hurling for the colleges at this time, its as competitive as any other hurling they could be doing....

believe they lost the toss the other night for the venue of the championship match against wexford, but they know now so ...

Richie Connor - Interesting reading!

A SENIOR GAA manager faced court yesterday over allegations he and another man made "secret profits" amounting to several million euro from land deals.

Mr Justice Peter Kelly said the case against Offaly football manager and auctioneer Richie Connor and Gerard Kilally, of Gerard Killally ...

Re: Uibh Fhaili Support

The level of support (numbers wise)for the hurlers on saturday was terrible, however the quality as already mentioned on this thread was brilliant. I appreciate we havent been competitive for the last 6-7 years at senior level but you would have thought that after the display against limerick and ...
