im nearly sure that the Edenderry map is incorrect-in so far as it extends further into the Clonmore map created and on the Rhode side.

Ill have to ask more seasoned officers of the club to confirm!

Please do! I await your response.

Re: Offaly GAA Club Map and Population Estimates

Hi Offalyclubmap,

Fair play to you. There is great detail, time and effort put into your work.

The map for Erin Rovers is wrong. It is not as big as your map has showing and in turn the population they have to pick from will be wrong also.

The map should stop just before "Rigney Plaster ...

Re: Offaly GAA Club Map and Population Estimates

Brilliant work. Nice to be able to see at a glance where every club is. Being from North West of the county I would not have know some of the east county clubs.

A few issued with the Doon area.

Clongawny, home of Aaron & Christian Brazil is in Clonmacnoise Parish and is Shannonbridge GAA ...

Re: Offaly GAA Club Map and Population Estimates

Can anyone posting opposing boundaries provide evidence to prove so as opposed to local knowledge ?

Not about right or wrong or that the local knowledge is incorrect.
Just such an interesting thing that road X is always associated with club Y but factually is not corresponding to that area ...

Re: Offaly GAA Club Map and Population Estimates

A great piece of work that represents proper research, which seems pretty rare these days.

As the (known) accuracy of the boundaries improves with fantastic work like this, I'd like to know how things really play out from club to club. Although it may be harder to prove over the entire history of ...

Re: Offaly GAA Club Map and Population Estimates

I've had a close look at the Ferbane/Belmont St Rynaghs border and I do believe there were inaccuracies here. I've amended the map as best as I can with the information available to me and have also ammended the club population lists.

Re: Offaly GAA Club Map and Population Estimates

Hi offalyclubmap,

Great work completed here. I'm just wondering who this work is being completed for - are you affiliated with the County Board? I was present at the presentation by Croke Park officials on the impending Demographics issue that is going to affect the country and especially smaller ...

Re: Offaly GAA Club Map and Population Estimates

Sorry, its anecdotal only. Someone posted it here several years ago. I'll try and find the thread later.

I recall querying why the Canal would be the boundary, given the boundary would have predated the digging of the Canal. Apparently there was a land swap where Ferbane took in the territory ...

1. The Rynaghs/ Ferbane-Belmont boundary is the Canal rather than the River Brosna.

Do you have any source for this?

Offaly GAA Club Map and Population Estimates

Fellow Offaly Gaels,

It has long been suboptimal that easy to access publicly available information as to the formal defined borders of GAA clubs in Offaly (indeed all counties) has not existed. There is nothing on the Offaly GAA website, nothing on any club website and nobody, not even the most ...
