Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
I’d have to disagree. Cathal is an exceptional passer of the ball too. But his outside of the boot pass is a drilled one into space. No one plays that outside of the boot pass with that slight hang time like Roo. No one.

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Something to think about: we play Laois in five weeks.
They have not been setting the world alight, but that win over Westmeath at the weekend was a serious result.
They beat us in Newbridge in last year’s Tailteann Cup, and that day we had Paddy Dunican, John Furlong, Cillian Bourke, Cathal Flynn ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
There were heavy conversations last year with the players and with the special committee that was set up, yet neither the players’ views nor the committee’s recommendations appear to have been taken on board. The manager seems to have been given a free pass, and from the outside, it looks like ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Was a decent first half. But 25 points from play tells a worrying story. Furlong is a massive loss in the defence and with him not there we are extremely weak at the back. The ease at which Tyrone went up the field and scored points, was like a training game. Who’s the defensive coach in there? Lads ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Yes, I noticed that quote in Egan's interview all right.
I also noticed he said this;
“The one thing I would say that could do with being a bit more set in stone would be a rest period for lads who go a long way in club championships before they return to inter-county set-ups.
“That they are ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Couldnt wait to get them in and dog them. Niall Furlong a prime example. Full year will Offaly u20s and then Tullamore. No rest.. straight into Offaly and a grade 3 hamstring strain right away.

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Hard to know what Saturday night will bring. You’d imagine Tyrone could come out swinging, but things don’t look great up their way either. Canavan heading off is a curious one as well. If they lose Saturday’s game, they’re suddenly right up against it with relegation.

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Playing Lee while carrying a quad injury was the wrong thing to do. The head physio walked because he wasn't being listened to. And the injuries have mounted up even more since he left. David Dempsey is out now too, after picking up an injury Saturday. Not sure if any of the other injured lads are ...

Not to worry. League is starting for clubs in a few weeks. Management will get out to a few division 4 games and pick up some new players.

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Mickey Harte was brought in as a bandage to cover up the other manager’s failings… The bandage is off and we are bleeding out!!!
My heart goes out to the players. It really does.

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Our injury crisis is so bad they have to name injured players to make up the match day 26. Lee Pearson and Sean Conway both injured and named on the 26. There has to be a massive inquiry into why this injury situation has happened.
Lee Pearson starts, well done
Playing an injured Lee ...
