Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025

Look I don’t have any real inside information on the camp. We can take your word for it alright, I just don’t see how a manager as experienced as Mickey Harte would let something slide like that, leading to his best players being injured. The U20s that got injured, maybe you do have a point.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025

Whatever about the injuries, it’s pure speculation to say that they were all down to one man. Would this not be more the S & C coach’s fault? I doubt a senior inter-county manager is ignoring their advice, especially when injuries are racking up. Also, we do have joint managers, surely they come to ...

Re: Club football 2025

I’m not sure it’s a great idea, especially for someone who has transferred to a club for genuine reasons. The majority of people live and work in Dublin and it’s surrounding counties, so big Dublin clubs were always going to benefit from transfers in. It’s more of a demographics issue which is ...

Re: Club football 2025

Hard luck to Tullamore. Ballyboden look very well drilled and there was a bit of a gulf in class.

Tullamore have too many players who would probably be best suited to playing anywhere from 5-12. They are the most physical team in Offaly and they use it to their advantage around the middle and ...

Re: Offaly football minor trials

As far as I know, 2 mentors from either of the development squads making up the minor team stayed on.

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025

A lot of good points in that post. If KK were to lose their county title in 2026 or beyond, who is most likely to replace them?
That individual who got involved in ‘the affray’ is not from the Kilcormac/ Killoughey club.

Re: 2026 Leinster hurling championship

After his year this year, the obvious solution for me is for Sampson to be centre back and Shirley pushed onto the wing. Maybe we might be light on forwards, so he’ll be pushed up and he can definitely do an equal job up there in my eyes. In terms of getting the best out of the squad, I think ...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025

For me, you’d hope that Shirley would be an inspiration to the next crop of lads from that area to go on and hurl. Might not be too appealing to him at the moment, but I wonder what these younger potential hurlers will think if their best talent in quite some time leaves. I know posters have ...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025

I know that KK have got three in a row, but the last 2 finals have been really good for Offaly hurling in my opinion. Both Ballinamere and Shinrone could have done it, but KK are a brilliant side and they have proven they can win through a number of ways. Many were probably hoping for a Shinrone win ...

Re: Club football 2025

I appreciate that this is going away from the weekend’s football but feel the need to comment on the new championship structure. I think the CCCC should be commended for seeing that there is a current problem with the senior championship and trying to rectify it.

Sometimes I think people forget ...
