Re: Club football 2025

Fully agreed there is a huge gap between Offaly and Dublin club football, but does the gap not exist between Dublin football and the other Leinster counties also? Dublin clubs have contested 14 of the last 15 Leinster finals, winning 11 of them. Dublin clubs have contested 3 of the last 4 all ...

Re: Club football 2025

What a win for Tullamore yesterday. They were in control of that game and seemed they would just edge home until Ferbane got the goal. Once that opened a 3-pt margin, they just took control of the game (or moreso Harry Plunkett took control of the game). I watched back the last 15 mins today and ...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025

This could be controversial.. Now that the SHC is over, these are my current power rankings at the end of the 2025 season.

1. Kilcormac Killoughy - speaks for itself, best players and squad depth in the county.
2. Shinrone - came through some real battles this year and could have pipped another ...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but Shinrone must be asking themselves this morning what might have been it ciaran cleary was full forward in the first half. The kk full back line dominated the first half but they were all over the place when cleary was introduced and Shinrone switched to aerial ...

Expecting a great game, going against the grain here with Shinrone by 2-3 pts. Think there is an upset on the cards!

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025

Latest odds from this weekend have KK 1/12 to beat Birr. I'd have Birr a lot closer than this, especially given the conditions and the experience on the Birr side. Still, even on a wet OCP, Kilcormac just seem to have too much fire power and looked excellent against Ballinamere, game was essentially ...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025

My 2 cents on the Ballinamere/ Durrow situation (for what it's worth). Obviously an ugly end to the season and the media speculation may not have been their downfall last Saturday evening in OCP, but it certainly wouldn't have helped. Call it egos, call it inter-club politics but something will have ...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025

It's 18 days since Tullamore beat Seir Kieran. Do keep up.

And given that Tullamore have roughly 40 times Clareen's population, a run rate of a win roughly every 25 years isn't hectic.

And hey - never, ever write off Coolderry!

How many years since Tullamore last beat Seir Kieran? I remember a ...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025

For the lurker who asked me earlier today if Tullamore had played Coolderry much since the 1964 semi-final. Well, they played three more times before Tullamore's relegation after 1977, three times in the 1990s, four times in the 00s, four times in the 10s, and most recently last year. So 12 times ...

Re: Offaly U20 hurling championship 2025

Absolutely agree with Superhans here. For many of these "fringe" hurlers coming out of minor, maybe going into college or working life and looking at adult hurling for the first time, you need some kind of bridge hurling-wise. We all know young fellas who were lost from hurling between the minor and ...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025

Ballinamere 4-18 Tullamore 2-18

The game was closer than the scoreline suggests. Tullamore got off to a brutal start when the GK dropped a ball into the net in the first few minutes. Ballinamere missed a lot of chances and let Tullamore back into it to go 2 up at half time. Same thing again in the ...
