Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025
Some waffle been talked there ....Kelly's "got away with it" because he won an all Ireland only a few years ago just a few years ago with most of these players ...he then blooded most of them bravely and dropped a lot of senior pros in his first year and took a lot of stick for it ...last year ...

Re: Club football 2025
I'd have to disagree with you there Kevin. However, I do agree with you it needs to be tightened up, the transfer system that is.
But every county board is different. In Dublin and Westmeath for example there is no parish rule. So basically anyone in Westmeath can play for Lomans and anyone in ...

Re: Club football 2025
Couldn't get over the difference in size and physicality of both teams today. Ballyboden are on a different level all over the field to not only Offaly club teams but even our county team. Play a very direct brand of football and their shooting was top class, only having 2 wides.
Agreed, Every ...

Tullamore 0-10 Ballyboden 2-19
Worrying how much better Ballyboden were. Tullamore were tipped heavily before hand but as has been the case for much of the last couple dacades, Dublin champions are operating on a different planet to other club teams.
Tullamore had a good first ten minutes but ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025
Cillian Bourke going AFL with Melbourne based side Essendon.
Can't turn down a chance like that. He has developed unbelievably well the past few years and the nicest lad you'd meet aswell hopefully it goes well for him.

Re: Club football 2025
I’d give Tullamore a serious chance today.
2/1 looks a very big price or is this accurate?
Luke Loughlin the big danger for The Downs, I see on social media that he did a Hyrox competition in the last few days, some going
Downs are favourites and supposed to be good. Though they're missing ...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025
And again, there's a difference between a Thomastown team that has gone completely bananas after winning the first and only senior club title in their history and a Ballyhale side that is top of the national roll of honour for club All-Ireland titles, with four All-Star winners in the team and ...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025
I clearly said "By any results metric K/K clearly went backwards." What you did there LS is akin to the Charlie Kirk opponents posting videos of him with absolutely no context.
In Offaly in 2024: P6 W6 D0 L0. Win rate 100%
In Leinster in 2024: P3 W2 D0 L0. Win rate 66%

Re: U 20 football championship 2025
St Patrick's dump Tullamore out of championship.
1-9 1-12
Tullamore were without Cillian Bourke and Edenderry were without the Charlie fella that played midfield for Offaly minors this year.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025
Take your point and would many forwards in Offaly see themselves as ahead of the Cian's & to a lesser degree Harry?
Probably not but desire linked to work rate is the issue and consistent application.
We are struggling for forwards and of course Spring will tell a lot, but the point I was making ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025
Still early days I assume as championship still on. Was Kellaghan dropped?
Nobody else springs to mind as Ru is retired. After that really you are left with the Darby’s, McNamees, Sullivan etc who are all finished with Offaly.
Kellaghan never got his full chance yet, and he had a good year ...

Re: Club football 2025
Not sure how Ferbane will recover from losing three finals in a row. Being a proper dual club and having several of their best footballers being county hurlers, makes it very difficult to beat a Tullamore team who are much more focused on football. Tullamore didn't play particularly well once again ...
