Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025
Agree, no place for that sort of carry on. The game itself was played hard and fair for the most part, got a small bit feisty near the end, I was on the opposite side of the pitch so it was hard to see what triggered the fight at the end. At that stage just accept that the better team on the day won ...

V good first half from KK. A couple of brilliant scores by Charlie Mitchell.

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025
Not to forget Charlie Mitchell and Adam Screeney. Would be great to see both make a big impact.

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025
Some really big match-ups in prospect tomorrow, starting with Slevin vs Mason … Conor Slevin wins this one! Then you have Cillian Kiely vs Eoin Cody (if Cody plays centre forward … he’s been v good out there all year) … a huge battle, might be pivotal. I expect TJ Reid to go in full forward vs ...

Re: 2026 Leinster hurling championship
A better draw than last year’s all the same, imo. Dublin and Wexford at home are the games we should be targeting (along with Kildare away obviously). If we show improvement /growth from last year, third place is achievable and would represent progress. Dublin did improve a lot after their first ...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025
Ballyhale looked v impressive today in a fiercely physical game. Will be a huge test for KK, who will need to be back to their best. Hopefully a big performance in them.

Re: Alianz league hopes for 2026
Survival, for sure.
For the hurlers, that will mean two wins minimum. Waterford and Galway are probably the most realistic targets. Being competitive vs Kilkenny, Cork, Limerick and Tipp would represent real progress.

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025
I was hoping to make the trip up from Borris in Carlow with a friend (and fellow contributor on here) for the semis, thinking it will be a double header. And of the two, the Saturday game in particular looks a bright prospect …. But a 3-and-a-half-hour round trip on a Saturday is not the easiest to ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
A very nervous second half. Johnny Kelly was right in front of us on the terrace and sounded so frustrated, but it has to be said we didn’t use the extra man and withdrew far too deep defending our lead with a big wind in our backs. Maybe understandable given the high stakes, but we should have ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
What are people’s thoughts for the big game at the weekend? James McNaughton is back for Antrim, and is a big danger … Antrim will surely throw everything at this game, but it’s up to us to bring a huge crowd and the sort of atmosphere we’ve generated for our underage teams in recent years. A hugely ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
All will be revealed next weekend on who was right and who was wrong to go easy or go full strength this weekend. I’m inclined to agree that Antrim might just be not very good this year, I watched their game earlier and Galway absolutely annihilated them, can’t be good for confidence even if you are ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
Look, we’re just not at Kilkenny’s level yet, and let’s be honest, we have a fair bit to go, but we battled on throughout, and took some good scores. Oisin’s two goals were the highlight, but I thought Dan Bourke played well also, burned Paddy Deegan for pace and a nice score in the first half ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
a nice strong side out saturday evening best of luck to all keep it going it will turn for this side one day.
Kilkenny with a very strong team as well, with TJ Reid returning. Will be a big test for our lads, but I’m hopeful we will give a good account of ourselves. Several of the more ...
