Obviously Kilcormac-Killoughey will score heavily against poor oul Clareen. And the champions hope it’s going to be a long year for them, extending right into November. So with that in mind, does it make sense that they should aim to peak around about now? I don’t think it does.

What does our championship win against laois account for now?


It accounts for the same as our win last year against Meath in the Leinster Championhip (and their subsequent victory in the Taitleann Cup), absolutely nothing.

Saturday's win was the most satisfying, most important Offaly hurling result in a long, long time.
Most of what needs to be said about the game has already been covered. It wasn't our best performance and, yes Laois did have more than enough chances to win it. And then some.
