Undoubtedly from the perspective of a Galway player they’re feeling a sense of hurt following last weekends performance. What’s perhaps more hurtful is the Galway publics opinions and comments which are questioning individuals fight, conviction and determination.
As a consequence it’s highly ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
If the fouling of Duignan or Kelly is as a once off singular event I wouldn’t be concerned. But it’s not a once off. I know more physical players struggle to win the easy frees that a smaller player would win, but that doesn’t mean that they’re not being fouled, it’s just they’re better equipped at ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
Parnell Park has a capacity of 7,500 with an attendance of just over 5,200 present last night, of which I would argue the majority of the crowd was from Offaly, at worst 50/50.
We’re all aware of the discrepancies between the attendances at senior and U20 games over the past number of seasons, the ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
Immensely proud of the lads last night. The work rate, commitment and skill were exemplary.’Going into Dublin’s back yard, against a seasoned side and last years Leinster finalists and to feel sickened leaving the ground having come up just short shows just far we’ve come in such a short space of ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
Hard to believe the day’s finally here. After 7 years in the wilderness we’re back in the Leinster championship.
Conditions will have a big impact on today’s game. As a short passing expansive side I don’t think wet heavier conditions will be welcomed by Dublin.
Experience of Leinster ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025
Arguably one of the most important members of any backroom team nowadays in football is a team meteorologist. Given the disproportionate impact of the two point rule surely the weather is now playing a greater role than ever and as such tactics need to be tailored to the conditions at play.

Re: Offaly U20 Hurlers 2025
Agreed, a professional performance and one which was required to get ourselves back on track.
One would assume Ravenhill wasn’t risked, perhaps overcoming a minor knock from the game on Tuesday.

Re: Offaly U20 Hurlers 2025
Absolutely brilliant to see Screeney back starting at 15, and equally so to see Larkin and Scully back on the subs. Hopefully we can get some game time into them both ahead of what’s to come in a few weeks time.

Re: Offaly U20 Hurlers 2025
The problem with injuries to young players is very much down to the many multiple teams such players are expected to play for. Each team has its own goals, training schedules and the timing of their respective peaks often overlap.

Re: Offaly U20 Hurlers 2025
Haven’t seen Dublin as of yet, so not too sure what to expect from them, but they’re never short of talent in underage and are likely a threat as well.
Kilkenny were underwhelming in their win against Wexford, but who would ever dare write off a Kilkenny side. They won’t be far off come knockout ...

Re: Offaly U20 Hurlers 2025
Personally speaking, I don’t see the result on Tuesday as a make or break. If anything it could be to our advantage.
No team wants the majority of their players to go into a semi final cold, having not played for 5/6 weeks. But for whoever tops the group that’s the scenario.

Re: Offaly U20 Hurlers 2025
A major challenge yes, but by no means an insurmountable one. Galway were impressive but they can’t be judged against a poor Laois side.
A loss in Galway Tuesday week would by no means be the end of the world, provided we could pick up a win against Laois. We’d find ourselves in the same position ...

Re: Offaly U20 Hurlers 2025
Looking at the current injury predicament through a more positive lens.
Even if we could finish second in the group this would allow some of the injured players up to the 5th of May to heal before the knockout stages commence.
I’m not sure of the timeline, and in some instances, I think even the ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
I agree completely with the previous post. ‘Traditional’ hurling counties are only happy for you to get so far, to get so close, they’ll offer the plaudits, somewhat patronising at that, but get too close and you’re expected to get back in line and fall back into place.

Re: Offaly U20 Hurlers 2025
Having been at both of the Munster U20 championship games so far Clare were the most impressive outfit and should have won that game last night at their comfort. However their radar was well off hitting over 15 wides during the course of the game, while also going down to 14 for the closing 15 ...
