I know London and Kilkenny have drawn blanks in division 4 .
We were talking about this in the pub on Monday night.
Obviously some of old league setup when you played before and after the new year teams didn't win in a calendar year ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Same story as other games, kept within 3-4 points and when game is in melting pot after half time we don’t take our chances and too slow to move on the line.
In every game we have waited until our opponents get goals to move 7-8 ahead before we make any changes on the line.

That’s exactly what I said, if you read my post.private joker wrote: ↑Mon Feb 23, 2026 10:22 am Seamus isn't playing though. He hurled for Tipperary and is now retired. Hardly on him if a lad is through on goal and gets hooked or bates it over the bar!!

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
what is seamus callinan adding to the party? were not scoring many goals? he was a great goalscorer himself but..
We are creating the chances, lads simply aren’t executing, that has to be on the players.
Ter Guinan got through 1 on 1 and got hooked at the 14 when he could have kept going and ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Any truth in Charlie Mitchell having some form of Heart Trouble and may not be available this year or potentially ever?
Hopefully not true, but have heard murmers a few times now in passing conversations.
As far as I know, he is under surveillance for now, don’t think it would be appropriate to ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
That’s a great point. I actually remember that now. Players were over in the faithful fields while the club championship was still on. How clubs allowed that to happen is beyond me. There’s your starting point. They think they are getting a head start but it’s the complete opposite. IC players are ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Duignan was out a month ago blaming all the injuries on split season/clubs.
That ignores the workload placed on lads from
I/c setups nowadays and the fact that the Offaly footballers were back on training regimes on top of their club schedules before the club championship even started last year!

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Ye do realise Liam Cahill didn’t mind starting Oisin O’Donoghue last night, who is also playing on Friday?
We were too slow to make the changes after half time when Waterford had a run on us - game was over by the time we moved

In a star studded UL side, Screeney is the standout with 4 points from play after 20 minutes. They lead NUIG 10 to 1-1. Hoare, Bourke and Taaffe starting for NUIG. Screeney is on the wing. Live on TG4 YouTube.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Scoreline was bad but we can get over that, it’s not our first. It was the way we went about it.
We set up to get play a system of high balls in on top of Ciaran Cleary, (who was called into the squad in the last few weeks to make up numbers for training) and try play off the breaks.
