Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025
But it's not criticism, lads giving out about not giving a point when it was clearly wide. Lads giving out for a goal been disallowed for a pull across the head. Any form of abuse is wrong and should not happen. Would You do that to a work colleague, random person on the street?. People do realise ...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling Championship 2025
This shouldn't need to be said, but I'll say it anyway.
Do you get to many games yourself? Because if you did you’d hear 10x the abuse being levelled from the stands as you read on here.
Any level of abuse, or personal commentary, about referees, players, volunteers or anyone is too much ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025
Anyone hear any news on new panel. By all accounts they are back working / trialling / testing etc. Who is new in and who are the lads from last year that are no longer involved.
On management front, I have heard that Declan Kelly is the only Offaly native involved and that it is only Mickey ...

Yeah you’re right, actually maybe Shamrocks should’ve had 6.frankthetank wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2024 2:50 pm Rhode were in a relegation semi-final.
Shamrocks were in a county semi-final.

Re: Offaly Minor Football 2024
That’s probably the same with KK now, you’d almost automatically lump them in as South Offaly because they’ve a good hurling team but they’d be more West than South.
They are the hardest one to categorise for sure. You could make an argument for them being South, West, and North. But then ...

I’m not gonna lie I found this post quite amusing not least because it’s the type of pointless issue I’d spend hours pouring over...
I mean, what else does this forum exist for! Better to express it here than keep it bottled up.
Regarding your other points, I feel it is probably a good ...

Re: Offaly Minor Football 2024
So, here is a genuine question that fits into this thread as much as any other. I hear a lot about West Offaly and South Offaly areas of the county in particular, and also North Offaly - but usually as a catch-all term. But I am never really sure what areas of Offaly we really have and what clubs ...

Re: SENIOR HURLING FINAL 2024
A bit of a shootout between Screeney and Duignan which Screeney just about edged in the last 5 minutes.
I thought Troy was excellent too and kept them in it at times.
No doubt the weather helped B/D but their work rate, intensity and physicality seemed to shock K/K for most of the game who have ...

Re: Offaly Minor Football 2024
The accusation of 'downright racism' should be taken back. Nowhere was it suggested that there is a GAA population that is exclusive to Irish nationals and their children. The fact is that there is a much higher chance that those from non national parents are more likely to engage with other ...

I will come back to this topic properly next week when I'm not covering live games, but I do want to pick up on this. Aside from the fact that the numbers are clearly false - all school enrolment numbers are freely available and the idea that there are mode kids in school in ...

Re: Offaly Minor Football 2024
In fact the GAA population in Tullamore is not all that big despite the size of the town. Within the 15000, there is a high proportion of people that'd never even look at a GAA game never mind play it or be involved.
.....
There is way more wasted talent in some of the super amalgamations ...

Good win for Ferbane/Belmont in the minor final. The better team throughout and puts a stop to Tullamore’s clean sweep.

Re: Offaly Minor Football 2024
70 players in one year is still insane.
Most rural clubs would do well to get 70 players over a ten year period.
