Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Great win and fair play to the panel for sticking at it when it must have been tempting to throw in the towel after the Laois game. Maybe this win is the turning point for management and players to let the shackles off and have a real crack at salvaging something from the year.

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Would be totally against retaining Mickey Harte. A brilliant manager with a fantastic record with Tyrone, I think he also has to be held accountable for what has happened this year. A lot of people seem to think everything is Declan Kelly's fault this year, and success last year was all down to ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Didn't realise Declan Kelly was still Director of Football. What exactly does this role entail? Very unusual if not totally unique to have your senior football manager also your Director of Football and hard to see how anyone could combine both roles.

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Tailteann cup might as well be wrote off now as well. Both management and players know this management will not be there next year at this stage, so both will just want the year to be over. Any player thinking of going to America for the summer will not be hanging around just to fulfill the fixtures ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Would not be Declan Kelly's biggest fan but as has been said , he has put a lot into football in the county and while not everyone will agree with the way he does things, he has got plenty of success down the years both inside and outside the county doing it his way.

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
I think our ceiling with the current talent in the county is at best mid table Div.2. On that 97 team, Cathal Daly, Finbarr Cullen, Sean Grennan, Ciaran Mcmanus, Vinny Claffey, Peter Brady to name a few, would have got on any county team in the country. Don't think we have many at the moment you ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Just on the 1997 team, that team was good enough to win the league outright in 1998. At best, with every player fit and every other player that could be in there on board this year, I think we would be competitive at Div.2 level but no where near getting promoted and could still be in relegation ...

Re: U 20 football championship 2025
Would imagine both teams will feature a lot of the same players that were involved in the minor final. First year there was ever only 2 years between both grades at club level.

Re: Club football 2025
Did not mean to imply that Tullamore were using this as an excuse. They definitely were not but some on this thread want to change the rules around an outsider playing for a different club after Saturday's game.
As you said, Tullamore had an off day and that can happen any team.

Re: Club football 2025
Plenty of clubs in Offaly have bent the rules to accommodate outside players or players not living within their catchment area in the past.
Wasn't to many giving out before Saturday's game but now it's a problem because a big club like Tullamore, with a huge pick, got well bet by an even bigger ...

Re: Club football 2025
Couldn't get over the difference in size and physicality of both teams today. Ballyboden are on a different level all over the field to not only Offaly club teams but even our county team. Play a very direct brand of football and their shooting was top class, only having 2 wides.

Would be very surprised if Ger Rafferty stayed with Ferbane. Has done well with them and has came very close to getting over the line but feel it's time for a new voice to freshen things up.

Hopefully KK take the initiative here and ban that clown from their matches in future. Kk very good in first half but the physical strength of Ballyhale took over in second half.

Re: Club football 2025
Cillian Burke very lucky not to see red in 2nd semi final. Incident happened very close to terrace side sideline but no surprise that it wasn't spotted by linesman.
