Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
couldnt make the game on Saturday, was driving so listened to it on radio, having watched two games V Waterford, while we are certainly making progress, I think the pace of where we are coming from (and going as in Leinster hurling championship) is going to take time to adjust to. Alot of rooting an ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2025
dont be on here much, yes we got promoted which was aim all league, well done..a strange first half, Clare really hung on and put it up to us, we got the two goals, nice lead at half time, we should really have been seeing out the game from that stand point. Second half was strange again, Clare came ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
This forum amazes me the stuff you see is just out of this world and a good thing some aren’t an influence on teams to think there was an argument Troy shouldn’t be in goals is just an example
It was definitely a wrong decision on the red and that decision followed through the game on referee ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2025
havent been on here in yonks, but dipped in tonight to see what reaction to our promotion is, and all in isnt it a great achievement, where as someone said, we were down a very very low ebb a short few years ago...I would say we all had a slight fear in this division with teams in it who had our ...

Re: Condolences Thread
Mick Hogan deserves mention, what a servant of Birr and Offaly at minor level and a few senior performances too. A teak tough and tenacious defender as many will know, probably unlucky so many other top class inter county defenders emerging in late 80s/early 90s. Sad be passed 4 years almost exactly ...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2024
its open draw in so far as both group winners go into one pot and 2 winning quarter finalists go into another, and one is drew out of each pot for 1st semi final and remaining 2 teams plat the other semi final...its open draw in that regard..

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2024
ah one never knows either, KK for sure are favs and deservedly so...Coolderry got closer than many teams, 6 points is still a decent margin of victory, wasn't at that game so dont know if it was as close for long stages as the updted scores on twitter suggested it was..KK and Ballinamere of course ...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2024
as woeful as Birr were (from MF up today) and I hate breaking it down but they have some fine hard working hurlers upto there, alot skill and what have ya on paper in their forward line but just not delivering, and not delivering a long time now. As woeful as they were I think they will have too ...

Re: Outside Managers
a high profile Offaly man managing outside of Offaly and while unsucessful, Pat Joe Whelehan to Limerick the time (2003) stands out in my mind. Limerick were a basket case at the the time though, the 3 U21 winning teams producing oodles of talent but lifestyle and internal politics Pat Joe was never ...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2024
looking like you set out above - interesting to see where Shinrone are after today - they were a different team today even I couldnt see such an improvement after their first two games, but they did, big players back etc..I still think knockout games later will be different animals and shocks can ...

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2024
Shinrone certainly had a great win today over Birr, they were vastly improved on earlier games, that said Birr from MF up dont really convince me, Cahill from frees excellent surely there's more there from play, their defence is pretty good and solid with Hayes and Harding carrying the battle to ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
While Laois ultimately will know shooting 18 wides did cost them (all teams will have wides i know)but Laois know this morning a one third of the 18 would have gotten them over the line (allowing a two over as we had wides too)Referee was finicky too to both sides I thought...one Laois call back in ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
i kept my powder dry til now on here, i did relate to this on the separate Declan Kelly post (which by the way i don't like the personalisation of the matter by allowing naming a post so personal - regulator again surely?)..anyway our chairman (whom i respect by the way) jumped in after the div 3 ...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
super win indeed...pressure at different stages of game and each time we pushed on again...felt abit for Barry Egan been subbed, he scored 1-02 from what ball came his way, Doyle played well too and got a score or two..that said management seen a change where game needed to be closed out i suppose ...
