[quote="GAHMAD"]Boon,
I would take it that you are a disgruntled parent of a minor who didn't make the team? Apologies if I'm wrong. In fairness to the minors, they could have beaten Wexford, and by the newspaper report they were the victims of a brutal ref v Dublin, as well as not being up to ...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup
It’s not a shock that we were well beaten , reading articles saying great wins for Westmeath great win last week for Laois ! But realistically this couldn’t be further from the truth, they beat a team that has been in decline for years. The most worrying thing for me is the hammering the minors ...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup
After that performance today and last weeks performance at minor level the management needs to be questioned. We are going backwards instead of forwards.

I agree if I was a fresher being whipped in the first half by a group of 15 and 16 year olds I wouldn’t be impressed either.greenairfield wrote:What's fake is it's not impressive

What’s fake? Freshers are first years at NUIG ... so a two - three year gap in most cases age wisegreenairfield wrote:We love the fake news here...they played the freshers

Re: Offaly U14 Hurlers Skillful,Determined and Tough
This is the usual PR spin that arrives here after the various All Ireland tournaments over the last couple of years.
People last year were claiming that Offaly son the All Ireland U16 title when in fact they won the shield. And now this year we have a claim that Offaly beat Kilkenny in the U15 ...

Re: Offaly U14 Hurlers Skillful,Determined and Tough
Offaly U15s beat Kilkenny at the Foley tournament last weekend and lost by just a few points to Laois. Unfortunately, Offaly's strongest U15 team wasn't playing against Laois, as the team was through to the semi final win or lose and the strongest line up had been already used against Kilkenny. So ...

Re: Development Squads Deserve Respect and a Profile
I wouldn't be to worried about losing for now, it's all a learning curve sometimes a loss can be better than a win as in a team knows where they can try and improve going forward. Squads like this are a great idea I would watch it all day as it's exciting to see lads with hopefully long careers ...

Re: Development Squads Deserve Respect and a Profile
Very good post. In KK and Tipperary to be on a development squad gives the player status. Something to be proud of.
I know it's hard/Time consuming to take a role on at county board level but would one parent off each squad not ask to be an administrator on the offaly Facebook page or Twitter ...

Development Squads Deserve Respect and a Profile
Today we travelled to Kilkenny to watch the U15 Offaly Hurling Development Squad play a blitz against Cork and Kilkenny. We lost. So did the U16s. It won't take long before people will say "Sure what's new...there's no future..."
